Try splitting words up, at least in your title.

I thought there were three rifles on the table.

right sorry about that it a Remington770springfield30-06 or a mossberg100atr30-06??

I'd stay clear of both and look at either the Marlin XL or XS line or the Savage Axis.

I've got the Mossberg, and I'm totally happy with it. 1" @ 100yds if I do my part. Not the prettiest thing out there, but that's not why I bought it.

I have no experience with the Mossberg, and don't own either rifle you mention. I have handled / shot a friend's 770. If those are your only choices, I'd go with the Mossberg ... and that's coming from a Remington fan.

Frankly, I'd look for something else altogether.

thank you guys so much, you have bin so helpfull i really have to look into all of ur great opinions

you are better off with a used gun. I would look for a good used remington 700 savage 110 or weatherby vanguard.

Atr 30-06

Got one and I like it a lot.

It's a 1 MOA shooter which I believe is somewhat due to the smooth crisp trigger. It's not a beautiful rifle, but, I didn't pay for pretty.

Lot's of my friends have enjoyed it also. And, if you are anywhere around Lawrence, Kansas, you are welcome to give mine a try.

thank you guys so much and guzzy thanks man thats very generous of ypu part but im from texas but you right man i shure dont pay for prity nither haha im really thinking on getting the atr im just shocked that no one chose the remington any reason why??

jreyes, do a search on this Forum about the Remington 770.
It has been covered dozens of times.
It's hard to repeat and repeat and repeat every time a new guy asks.
Best to do a search and learn more about it.

The 770 is known to have an extremely accurate barrel,
but the rest of the gun is difficult to live with. Crappy, in fact.
But amazingly accurate.

Go do a search.

Have a Mossberg ATR-100 in .30-06. Will hold under 2" @ 100Yds in MY hands with cheap soft-point hunting ammo.

With GOOD ammo (read as Federal Gold Medal Match ammo) will hold under 0.7" @ 100yds

The ATR is a better rifle than a 770, but that's not saying much. For more or less the same money a Marlin XL7 or Savage Axis is a far better choice.

Just purchased a Marlin XL7 in 30-06 with a laminate stock. Spent just over $350.- and could not be happier with my purchase, adjustable trigger and fluted bolt. Highly recommend you take a look before you buy. The GunBlast review was a lot of help in making a choice.

I think you will find that the Mossbergs are getting a lot of good reviews and those that have them are not selling them. Ought to say something :)

The Mossy's have pretty much the same features of the Marlin. It's not like the Marlin is built out of premium materials and the Mossy out of recycled plastic. There's very little difference in the actual rifles but I would give a slight edge to the Marlin. I think it's a better rifle than the Savage Axis too. All three are better el cheapo shooting sticks compaired to the Rem 770.

its tru i havnt herd bad things said about the mossberg once again thank you all guys you were great help very reliable thank you so much to all of you :)
