I think it uses the same bot heasd as the 100 autoloader and therefore is push feed. I don't have a lot of experience with the 88, just the 100, so someone might be able to give you a definitive answer better than me.

No, it uses a rotery bolt inside a bolt carrier and is push feed.

Only way it could work.
