If you can't handle one man bare-handed, law enforcement is not for you. Please

Excuse me?

This tells me that you have never been in a real fight before. And--don't interpret this as a personal attack, because it isn't--don't even dare to sit there and talk about how you're the (fill in the blank) high school wrestling champ/martial artist of great reknown/street fighter/whatever.

I'll say again: You have NEVER been in a real fight.

Now, on top of not ever having any fighting experience, you want someone to subdue a combative, angry, fighting male while under restrictions about the force that they can use. Without using any weapons, obviously.

Sheesh.

Stop making comments about something you know nothing about.

Wow...I'm a former LEO and CO. Also 10 USMC vet. Obviously us ol' timers who have been in real fights, taught self defense, or actually have had to size up an attacker in 0.05 seconds and respond accordingly have had to use both hands, both feet, teeth, head, knees, elbows, ANYTHING to survive the fight. I've trained in aikido and krav maga and have never taken anyone out one handed. I say we old guys need to take these inexperienced young folks out for a field trip for some serious OJT! ;-)

Unarmed?

Any clothed person can be armed with any number and variety of weapons, many of which can be presented and used to inflict fatal injuries in the blink of an eye. Even if the person approaches you with hands in plain sight he can still draw a weapon very quickly especially if he uses the diversion of looking through his pockets for "where he put the address/directions." If something doesn't feel right, keep distance and obstacles between yourself and the threat, scan 360`, and be prepared to defend against whatever he might pull on you.
