The permission to carry weapons has been suspended in Venezuela, my country. All citizen that has weapons will be imprisoned. The government has bought a lot of weapons to Russia and Spain, but he wants to disarm the population. They want defenseless citizens!!!

We cannot use even our shotguns!!!

move to Vermont, US.

no permit to buy, own, carry, or use rifles, pistols, or shotguns.

lots of open land, land is cheap, people are nice... just abit chilly up there...

I'm very sorry to hear this. While we often read about disarmament "hyperbolically" (that is, generally ranted about, usually in a hypothetical sense) it's rather chilling to watch as it happens.

Guess you and your like-minded countrymen need to decide whether you'll stand for your principles. Best of luck to you.

D@mm, I'm sorry to hear this. I hope not too many more get hurt by the new steps that police state is taking. Of course, things might have been better without Chavez, but Jimmy Carter assured us that Mr. Chavez is a decent man and the election that should have removed him was entirely honest, so he must be all right...

I've poked around a bit, and found a fair number of stories in the news about the 100,000 AK's the state is buying for it's 35,000 man army (the rest are for the 65,000 internal security/domestic supression troops?), but nothing about a new ban on private ownership. Can you send some links, or is this not permitted to circulate in the international arena?

Sorry to hear that, Linkfax....

One must wonder if our old nemesis Rebecca Peters and heaps of George Soros' money have played a major role in this development?

Lula DeSilva took Brasil down the "OSI" anti-gun path...

No doubt disarming citizens makes tinpot dictators feel safer. :scrutiny:

When a government disarms it's own citizens. Your going down the wrong path. Just ask these people

- but fundamental human rights never change.

We're hoping for the best. Prepare for the worst, my friend.

Dave, might it be useful to move this thread to L&P and spread the news a little faster?

Linkfax,

Can you give us any more background information? Is this sudden or a little bit at a time.? Any social unrest, or other reasons why they suspended your ability to defend yourselves?

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

God Bless and take care of yourself.

Well

Well, I tell you that is true that the Goverment buy 1000,000 Ak´s, 65,000 of them for the "Guardia Nacional" (National Guard) an internal security and supression troops, and for the The Cuban militias that are "hidden" in Venezuelan territory. This happened a little bit at a time.

The government says that this law is to defend the citizens, but every day more people die and the criminals continue armed. In Caracas, the capital city, die more than 100 people every week.

I want to fight, but the people have afraid...

You are in my prayers Link. Pretty chilling.

I have quite a few neighbors from your country in my area and have spent quite a bit of time in your general neck of the woods.

Get out if you can.

Post everywhere on the net if you can do so safely.

It is fairly common knowledge that your election was a farce. Problem is we now hear nothing in the US about what is going on in Venezuela.

Thank God for the Constitution of the United States which provides all reasonable Americans a moral and legal compass should the government overstep it's bounds.

Sounds like ya'll could use one to. Guess how we got ours?

About where we would of been after 8 years of Kerry! Well maybe we could keep the shotguns with no more than 2 shots. Those would go after the next socialist,er demorat was elected!  :cuss:

O.K. You know the score and you know where we all stand on this. I cannot over-emphasize the historical significance of these events. Your government is marching down the road to genocide. It has other names (i.e. "ethnic cleansing", etc.). The results are the same. Unless there is a SERIOUS and RIGHTEOUS uprising of the PEOPLE this will get going like a snowball down a mountain. Disarmament of the people is the first step down this road. Those who would disagree are whistling past the graveyard of history. GET OUT or FIGHT. Those are the choices here. Venezuela will soon be starting the "meat grinder" if they haven't already. Man, this is scary. It's 2005 for god's sake!! You are in my prayers. I hope you can make over to here if you leave. We can always use more good people on the team. Sorry to get wound up but I haven't been asleep all these years. Death dealing by one's own government makes my blood boil. May the lord be with you.

I am ready

Thank you for your support friends. If they want my weapons, I will give them... lead piece for lead piece.

Bolivarian Circles beeing disarmed too?
Maybe some of the excess AK's are going that way.

Pretty interesting, considering I have a project about the venezuela coup in 2002.

It would be really difficult to win. I'd grab my family and head for the border very soon.

Hi

The Bolivarian Circles are goverment militias too. They are very well armed, with some AK´s too.

(speechless)

Friend,
Your first responsibility is to your family and interests. As you find time, please keep us posted on the situation in Venezuela! It would be the info other countries, the USA included, need to prove the point that civillian disarmament leads to mass killings. My God, that this information has to come at the expense of another's life!
I just said a prayer and will continue to ask the Lord to grant you the grace you need at this time.
Its the least i can do.
