All,

Has anyone had any experience with the Surefire railed forearm for the Mossberg 590? How does it install, as the picture on the website doesn't show action-arms? I'm torn between using the going with the modular system or one of the permanently mounted weapon lights and going through the nightmare of filing down my bayonet lug. I really appreciate everyone's input, thanks in advance.

Saw one in the store recently and it should be a piece that slides over your existing forend tube and rails. Unscrew the nut on the end, slide off the existing wood or synthetic and screw nut back on. The only problem you might have is if the tube on your gun is the wrong length. They come in two lengths. When I put my 623 on, I ended up having to get the other length.

NOTE surefire will hit the bayonet lug on you shotgun unless it is removed(if so equiped)

On installing them on a shotgun you have to remove the existing forearm on the slide tube of the shotgun

The picatinny forend (M70) installs by unscrewing the nut and sliding the OEM forend off. It's more versatile than the weaponlight forend (623) because you can attach various lights and vertical grips, and it doesn't interfere with the bayonet lug. The only disadvantage is the additional weight, which might slow cycling speed and affect balance.
