has anyone used weapon shield clp how does it work for you
time to order some clp thinking of weapon shield or re-ordering some
ballistol
thanks all

I have been using it for years on all my firearms. It cleans very well, is an excellent lubricant, and works well for short term preservation. I prefer it over everything else, except for long term storage as it evaporates. I have used many other brands, but stuck with WS.

I've gone through a couple of 16oz squeeze bottles of Weapon Shield over the last several years -- but I'm a BP shooter so corrosion protection in & over everything is paramount.

I'll admit that WS is what I keep in the gunbox... but I've also got several BreakFree bottles in the kitchen cabinet that I use as well.

The Ballistol sits in the corner -- getting the Rodney Dangerfield treatment -- as its only real advantage is in water solubility for making MooseMilk-B ;)

Frog-lube, Ballistol......

I used what was Weaponshield in the mid 2000s. It was okay but nothing super great.
I'm now using FrogLube, www.froglube.com . It's not cheap but it's non toxic, FDA approved & has a light "mint" scent(I think it's more like Pepto Bismal).
Many gun owners & armorers say it's best to heat the surface prior to application(s) of the FrogLube paste or CLP. I just apply light amounts of liquid to my Glock 21 .45acp pistol. It works good so far.
In a recent THR post, a forum member documented a detailed T&E of around 30 different CLPs/gun care products. Ballistol, Weaponshield & Froglube were included. Of the products T&Eed, Hornady's One Shot & Frog-Lube did very well.
Gunzilla, Weaponshield & Ballistol did okay but not outstanding. They were in the top ten of the 30 or so after the results were reviewed.

I've used Ballistol since about 1997. It's great and handy around the home or shop too, :D .
Like FrogLube it's safe, non-toxic & CFC free so you can use bare hands with it.

FWIW; one common - I've heard about FrogLube other than the overall price is that is can "gum up" or "congeal" on weapons stored for long periods.
I think this may be from a excessive amount of CLP or grease being used.
Keep in mind that the all natural FrogLube may do things like this due to moisture, humidity, temperature etc.

I'll close by saying FrogLube was created by a former US Navy SEAL & special ops guy. That's not a PR stunt either, FrogLube is sold in the gift shop of the SEAL-UDT museum in Florida. :D
