Weapons Purchases And NICS Delays

I get delayed about 45 minutes each time...I have a CCW and in Va if you show your CCW it is supposed to be faster. So go figure. One time I called the SPHQ and talked to my counterpart in their computer room (I work local gov't.) and my application was put through in about 3 minutes....so I think in Va it is the people running the system, not the system.

I get delayed for anywhere from 20 minutes to the full 3 days about 50% of the time, over 5 different states I lived in and bought guns in.I dont have an overly common name, or a particularly uncommon one either, and wether I include my SS# seems to make no difference.This happened even when I had an active secret security clearance.I think Cosmoline has the correct answer for why this happens.
