So, I'm debating between a Single Six 22 lr/mag convertable, and a Super Blackhawk Hunter. One factor I'm considering is that the SBH is already cut for scope rings, and I wasn't crazy about the idea of having to tap a Single Six frame. I will definatly be hunting with whichever revolver I eventually purchace, and a scope is a must.
Then I found the Weigand tapless mount - it screws into the frame in place of the adjustable rear sight, and has a nylon-tipped set screw in the front of the base to stabilize the rig.
This seems like a fine idea to me, if it proves to be stable. I'm concerned about the potential for POA drift with only one firm mounting point.
Does anyone have experience with one of these mounts?
Thank you in advance.
