Here it is summertime and my right hip has gone haywire so no range time for me. I can barely shuffle along with a cane and not very far at at a time. The medical department is working on me but not much is happening in the improvement department. I have a new rifle to do load development for and a couple of handguns I would like to experiment with different loads to see which is most accurate but that is all on hold for I don't know how long. I can't even go out in my shop and build something. Internet browsing, watching TV, and reading are getting boring. I need to go shooting.

I feel your pain...literally. Last December I had a roto rooter surgery that I am almost recovered from. Last month I had a roto cuff surgery (2 rotos...huh) that I still have another month recuperation at least before I start shooting. It just kinda ruins the summer for a while. Been catching up onthe mindless youtube.

Yuk, sorry to hear both of you are out of the game for a while. :(

It is quickly going from warm to baking hot here. I may only get one more outdoor range trip in before I leave on vacation and then return home to three more months of triple digits.

Hope you guys heal up soon.

Stay safe.

Every day it's something new.

I awoke at 2:28 AM because my left thumbnail was screaming. I don't know why. I haven't hit it or abused it in any way. It was like every other joint in my body said to my thumbnail, "We're gonna take a break, it's your turn to hurt for a while."

As has been said so many times before, growing old is hard, but better than the alternative.

Get well, Pard.

What was the problem? Gout? Three months post triple bypass surgery @ 85 myself. Gonna try the AR this weekend.
My problem now is my left hand is very weak. The IV they struck in my left hand that stayed in for SIX days must have screwed up the nerve and the fingers, and the pinky, ring and middle fingers are numb. I know, give it time, but three months? When i tell the doc's i get the deer in the headlights look. REAL hard racking the .45 1911 and the 9MM Ronin

Sorry to hear the getting around is getting tougher. Could you possibly use one of the little battery-powered ride-on carts? Something like this: https://electricwheelchair.store/pr..._content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic

I feel your pain, I went from 2-3 range trips a week to basically none. I have a mystery illness that despite going to one of the best hospitals in the country and a few specialists, can't figure out what is wrong with me. I am coming up on 35 and look like I'm in my prime, don't know what to do with myself either. I just barely make it through my work week and have only been trap shooting once since spring thaw.... very abbreviated shooting sessions since it doesnt take long before things in my body go haywire, I feel trapped and am going a lil nutty. Sorry for your troubles

Had steroid shot from hand center a little over a month ago.
Hand specialist said at followup get to rheumatologist ASAP.
Did ultrasound and blood work, find out what I have in 2 weeks.
Steroid shot worked, til I went back to my reg job. 2 weeks and am all messed up again.
Got stuff to do.
Aint no body got time for dat! LOL

Got three rifles and one specialty pistol to zero....beans getting tall, wanted one more groundhog hunt.
Am stuck at home w aches n pains. Kid down w migraine. So no music or mowing the back yard.
Time for a bite and then another prednisone.
Rheumatologist said take a steroid pack between visits.
What a fun weekend.
Saturday.........totally wasted.

There was a poster I had as a kid that would fit this. Two vultures were sitting on a branch, with nothing visible to eat or drink. One vulture turned to the other and said - "Patience my ass ! I'm gonna kill something !"
It seems like your in the same fix. Good luck !
