My 33rd birthday was on Saturday and the wife gave me some play money...... hmmmmm, what to buy?

I was looking at various rifles, I really wanted a .22 Mag, then I saw the price of the ammo:what:

So, I re thought my decision and opted for a .22LR

I have had numerous .22LR pistols and rifles and currently own an old Stevens A-15 single shot bolt action and a Marlin Model 60 Glenfield, and a Beretta Neos 7.5 inch pistol.

For the first time in my life, I now own a Ruger 10/22. So, tell me how good this thing really is. I have not shot it yet. I also want to know about aftermarket for it.

Thanks again guys and gals

The aftermarket is unlimited, the 10/22 is probably one of the more modifiable platforms out there.

I have had one since 1978, and have kept it stock, and it is absolutely boring in its reliability.

Happy Birthday.

The 10/22 is a fine gun just as it is.

However, it is also one of the most 'mod-available' guns on the market. Barrels, stocks, sights, trigger assemblies, caliber changes, etc. You can spend however much money you have getting mods and making it look most any way you wish.

the 10/22 is an incredible rifle. My friend picked one up at a gunshow for $300 it had a scope, fiberforce folding stock, chrome....just generally tricked out. That having been said it was so full of grease it would stop shooting after a few clips:D Its a very fun gun! If you get some extended clips for it watch out for some of those plastic ones I've heard the tip can melt.
