:( i finely got the money and off to the gun shop on my lunch hour.
when i get there i fondle the xd again and tell the salesman ill take it, he's happy , im happy, its to good to be true.
and he's out of the xd's the only one he has is the desplay and it has most of the blue rubbed off.
there looking for a shipment on friday and hopefully it will have some xd's
but the wait may hurt.

Good things come to those who wait. Paitence is a virtue. And all that crap....

You will be happy with your decision, I love my XD...

Good shooting!!!

That sucks but maybe this is God's way of telling you there's a better deal somewhere else!!

The only complaint I've heard about these guns is the finish.

I had a dealer try and sell me a display model Glock 34 for $599. I asked if any were in back he said no, I asked if there was a discount for display model he said no. If he'd offered $20 I'd have paid cash and walked. Instead I walked. 6 days later I had a NIB Glock 34 from a face to face deal for $505.

Sometimes things happen for a reason.

thanks guys.
and your right there may be a better deal or the next shipment may have a better xd in it for me.
who knows.

for the most part its collage kids behind the counter.
ive seen them lean into the desplay case to return a pistol and not be able to reach the front of the case, so they just toss it in the general direction .
verry rough handeling.
there is however a verry nice older guy who looks retired from some place other than there, who is verry helpful and verry up on the pistol scene.
i try to deal only with him.

Kinda similar story. I was set on buying an XD-9 subcompact. I went to the local gunshop and with tax it was going to be 500 bucks. That made me rethink and I'm glad I did because I found one for sale only 40 minutes from me that had 600 rounds through it but came with Don Hume and Comp-tac holsters all for only 350 bucks! I was pretty thrilled about that!

My first reaction was "already!?", but then I noticed other people had mentioned that. Seriously though, even if you're using the gun as a trolling weight it shouldn't look like that.....!

Heh. Now thats a part time job I would have killed for. Still would be heck of a thing to do while working on a phd... go spend a few hours at a gun shop, type on a laptop while business was slow..

After graduate school while waiting for my license I worked for a gunshop. It was a blast. THe warehouse has crates of Uzi recievers, BAR parts, tons of 1919 kits and plenty of junk to keep you busy. Sven would have fell in love with all the M1 Carbines that we shipped out to LEOs. Each one of them ran 150 bucks and 15 bucks for the pre-ban mags.

Nice.

*crosses his fingers* I'm hoping duke takes me. Some lesser schools have already offered but.. If I can't get myself into a program that I can come out as a decent researcher I don't see the point in bothering.

FWIW, my XD-9 subcompact was only $335, and my regular XD-9 was about $399. Those were purchased in central Indiana.

ouch this has been a rough week. i was told i was unintelligent gun owner because i keep a loaded gun in my house. and now someome is telling me i am incapable of being a good salesman because i am in college.

i guess i just suck at life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and by the way it's college:neener:

You must have looked at the one at Academy in Beaumont. I looked at the same one 2 weeks ago and thought "this doesn't look new to me." Lots of scratches. I like my defensive pistols to be pristine. ;)

Black92lx as you can see i didnt spend my youth in a gun shop or collAge

rockjock, it was in academy.
i called today and they havent recieved the next shipment.
by the way can we get a spell check for us non college guys.:D

Hey Smitty,

That older guy you were talking about knows his stuff. He needs to give the college kids lessons :).

Just my .02,
