They claim to be willing to die to defend their rights but are all too willing to kill the other guy for using HIS rights.

Although I have seen it expressed, it's not common. It's usually not the younger ones though, they seem pretty libertarian in outlook. Actually, that is just my impression. I have no idea how old most posters are.

Yeah, I like to talk doom and gloom. It is entertaining. But what keeps me going is the same as you: I realize that there have been problems since day 1. And back on day 1 everyone thought they were just as serious as the problem we face today. People throughout time have thought that the world was going to he**, but it hasn't.
A little off topic, but several times I read a quote that went something like this: These baseball players today don't play for the love of the game, they are in it for the money. These guys are lazy, overpaid................................
The quote was from Ty Cob back in the early 1900s.
There is nothing new under the sun.

I guess if 'rights' include raping, looting and stuff of that nature then yes I would kill the other person! If a SHTF type thing happened today I would try to avoid fights and work with my friends and family to make a safer place to live instead of going out shooting everyone I don't like.

I would add though that some members are probably old enough to remember the times it looked like the world might end in a series of mushroom clouds, at points that all seemed very immediate (Cuban missile crisis).

Of course there is also the fear of the 'Fifth Column'

Just reading the thread theme I never read further than that.

Being born is a death sentence & every one of you needs to grasp that fact.

The only thing you can do is to make a differenec & make it count, huh?

Ply The Trade enough to make your stint on this earth to make those who follow get a bit easier life- a goal toward more freedom & tell y'all what, the pendulum will swiing & those who we shoved over the edge, their children will be less inclined due to their "easy life" & they will allow theirs' to go to seed.

They won't beat the drum as loudly as we did. - but their next generation will.
