What’s your summertime carry setup?

summer to winter, the gun may change, but style of carry does not, holster on left side for right hand crossdraw. holsters by local amateur for custom fit. RF pocket stays same. shirt tail hanging out year round, bubba style.

In the summer I usually carry my S&W 637 loaded with .38 +P ammo. I also have CT grips which make a huge difference when shooting in low light conditions. I carry the 637 in a high pancake holster under a t-shirt.

Para C7.45 in a Wild Bill's NSA or a Star M-43 in a Milt Sparks Summer Special. Occasionally, a Kel-Tec P-11 in a Don Hume JIT. P-32 in an Uncle Mike's or Don Hume pocket rig always.

The main reason that the P-11 is less frequent than my trusty old Star, even though it's much lighter and has more capacity, is that I can shoot with the Star much better.

5" steel 1911 in Brommeland Max Con V leather with spare mag and Surefire E2 Executive - same as winter.

70% of the time (during the work week) it's a SW 642 in a Azrael pocket holster or Uncle Mike's IWB.

30% of the time (anytime other than the work week) it's a Springfield Lightweight Loaded Model in a Milt Sparks SSII.

I have been contemplating either a Kel-Tec P11 for ankle and back-up pocket duty or a Springfield Micro Compact GI model for OWB carry.

My choice...

is a Para Ordnance P12-45...stoked with 10+1 rounds of Black Talon 45 acp in a belly band under a T-shirt. If weather calls for a light jacket, it's in a IWB holster at my 1600.

Still deciding...maybe a Kimber Pro Carry....or somesuch commander 1911,

most likely a Sig 239 in .40.

So far has been a Sig 225 with an Uncle Mikes IWB. Not glamorous but functional.

I have several firearms, but the two I find myself carrying most are my Springfield Mil-Spec Ultra Compact or my Taurus PT-145. Either will handle the Primary CCW position or can be carried as my BUG behind another firearm.
Either can be carried in any season comfortably.

When I belt carry it is a Springfield Micro-Compact no matter the weather. I had been carrying my KelTec P3AT almost constantly in my pocket but haven't carried it since I got my airweight Smith. I am waiting to see if I stick with the snubby in the summer rather than going back to the KT. If I can deal with that huge, heavy j-frame :p for pocket carry all summer I will probably end up getting rid of the KT altogether. Then it will be strictly j-frame for the pocket and Micro for the belt all year 'round.
