well this last weekend i got home from a 3day weekend at my grandfathers beach house out on the coast. while im unloading my wifes subaru i look over at the lawn and see 2 rats running about.

needless to say i ran inside and grabbed my CO2 powered BB pistol and tried to kill the bastards. well ended up knocking them out from about 3ft away then i would grab a shovel to finish them and they would scurry off.

well i had remembered a older H&R 622 revolver at a pawn shop in town that i always wanted. needless to say i went and got it as well as some Agulla .22lr rounds to get the dam things.

got the first one today with it. feel prowd and glad to see it gone and hope to get the rest in the comming days.

the agulla super colibri is awsome sounds quieter then my BB pistol and one shot gets them from up to 25yards id say.

so lets see what you use

I use a remington summit air rifle and a tech force t6 aka griffon bullpup. They are quiet accurate and powerful enough to take a bobcat at 50 yds. However, although the super colibri are less potent than these two air rifle it makes for a fine quiet round.

Close up pest control? My Heritage Rough Rider .22 stoked with CB's. Really close up? .22 Shot loads!

Pest control for me was anything from the occasional barn rat to woodchucks to feral drop-off dogs & cats at ranges from 10 to 100+ yards, so I always had my scoped Browning BL-22 loaded with CCI Stingers behind the kitchen door, and a .357 Blackhawk handy when working outside.

generally I use a air rifle, but when I get out the 22 its a nylon 66 other wise its a 410

The Light-Sleeping Lab controls what few four-legged pests that may happen to encroach on her domain (or 2-legged ones, for that matter). Air guns take care of the feathered variety.

CCI shot out of a Ruger New Model 6. Good out to about 25 ft on snakes and rats.

Don't have a picture of it, but my old Remington M512X bolt action tube fed .22 that I got for my 9th birthday is my favorite. It's ungodly accurate with everything from CCI Stinger to CCI CB short. I also have a new Crossman 177 cal. spring gun to take care of running off what I don't wanna kill or to kill small stuff.

Handguns, my Rossi M511 Sportsman with CCI CB short has dispatched a few possums around the house without a lot of bang. It ain't as quite as the Remington, but it ain't as obvious when I go outside, either.:D

Large picture, here's the link.

Nowhere Man,

Good Choices. After 1, 2 & 3 I go with my MKIII Hunter with CB Longs jut to keep the noise down. Sounds like a Air Pistol of BB gun.

Lately I've been known to use a CZ 452 Luxe (24" bbl) with Aguila Super Colibris or RWS "6mm flobert CB caps". But ordinarily a Beeman .177 airgun.

Koja, as always, I'm very jealous of your Air Force - can't wait to get mine!

Putting together a .25 as soon as I get the barrel, miscellaneous parts, and the mod'd air tank valve back. Should allow me out to the 100-yard range & have plenty of power for larger vermin, such as raccoons & shiftless skunks. I'll put the same optics on it, only a longer-tubed version to better compliment the 21" barrel & shroud assembly. If it's as accurate as the Talon, I'll be a happy camper.

I have a POS crossman BB/Pellet gun (rifle) I use as a rat deterent. Works well. I have a Benjamin .22 cal Air rifle for anything the crossman can't handle. I have thought about using the Super Colibri's in my rough rider, just haven't done it yet.

I have used everything from pellet guns to 30-06. Here is a small list of calibers used. Let me also state that all animals were killed due to them causing damage to my property or to be eaten, not just for the fun of it.

22 LR - Rabbits, Buzzards, Turtles, Snakes, Rats, Mice, Feral Dogs, Coyotes, Feral cats
22 WMR - Buzzards, Turtles, Snakes, Feral Dogs, Coyotes, Feral cats
223 Rem - Feral Dogs, Coyotes, Feral Cats
9mm - Wild Boar, Feral Cats, Feral Dogs
40 S&W - Feral Cats
45 ACP - Feral Dogs, Turkey
357 / 38 - Snakes, Wild Boar
12 Gauge - Feral Cats

I use the ole marlin 60 .22 for birds and moles and everything in between the favorite for moles however is the mossberg 12ga with #4 turkey steel loads.
I am suprised knowone has mentioned sitting in the yard with a 12ga in your lap waiting for moles to move its fun.

I've used CCI CB .22 short for years for pest control with excellent results. I used them to kill many crows, feral cats, and starlings. I like the fact that they are so quiet and accurate from my bolt action single shot Marlin.

I didn't actually shoot anything, but last night I let the cat out, and I saw him immediately stare to the left. A possum was hanging by the side of the house. I ran back in and grabbed my Marlin 39a, but he was gone when I got back out.
We have a deal, I don't go out looking, but if you come near my house, they're dead.

My cat is a pretty good hunter... but she sometimes kills critters then brings them inside. She tends to hide her kills so there were a couple times I didn't find them until they began to smell. Darned sneaky cat...

If I needed to hunt them down myself then I'd use a beefy .22 caliber pellet rifle.

My Winchester Model 57 has cleaned the woodchucks out of many a farmer's field since I was 14. The gun is 84 years old and still going strong although it now kills papeer zombies at the range.

1) 0-75 yards Browning BL-22, irons with CCI Quiets
2) 50- 100 yards Savage Mark II FSS with Mueller APV shooting CCI Quiets.
3) Close in to 100 yard challenge- Ruger Single Six hunter with 2-6X optics CCI Quiets or Mini Mags depending upon range.
4) 75-165 yards Savage 93/17 FVSS with Mueller APV .17hmr 17 grain Hornady ballistic tips.
