What 308 rifle compliments a semi auto mag fed 556 rifle?

I had a question similar to the OP. That is, after securing a semi-auto AR-type carbine, what would be appropriate to compliment it, and offer some diverse interest at the range. Like many on the thread I picked a bolt-action in .308. I didn't have the same budget limit so went with a Tikka Sporter and Leica 3.5-14/42 scope. Had I had a budget restriction similar to the OP, I'd go with a Tikka T3 Lite and a Nikon scope with the BDC reticule.
Why?
The Tikka T3 line has an outstanding bolt action, adjustable trigger and is considered by many reviewers to be highly accurate. It's also a bit more reasonably priced versus the Ruger Gunsite. And I'm not particularly fond of the displaced optic design intent of the Ruger. And for me, the mitigating factor is that I wanted a left-handed model so that favored Tikka over most other brands.
The Nikon has great glass for the money and the .308 BDC helps with holdover for distance after zero'ing it. The combo would be a great bolt action starter set that will satisfy for many trip to the range or on a hunt.
In fact after buying the Tikka Sporter and Leica, I liked them so much that I purchased (a more reasonably priced) Tikka T3 and Nikon BDC in .223. Outstanding.
