What 9mm handgun?

CZ75/85s are great guns and have world wide support and plenty of aftermarket stuff avaliable. If you want something off the beaten path the Grand powers guns like ifit's are really awesome the best trigger SA on a DA/SA gun I've felt.

You weren't happy with the suggestions give to the question you asked in August? http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=785504

How comfortable is your Sig P320? Does it point naturally for you such that you don't have to adjust to bring the front sight into alignment when you present the pistol?

If you're good with the P320 then the other Sigs and the CZ and clones would probably do well for you.

If you have to lift the sight to get it to align then you'd want to switch to something like a 9mm 1911 clone.

Walther PPQ, Beretta 92FS, SIG P226, Glock 17, Glock 19. Those are my top choices in no particular order.

Check out the Canik 55 C100. Spring kit from Cajun Arms. About half your budget for an excellent handgun.

Try the Taurus PT92 9mm. It's like the Beretta in many ways because it is a Beretta. Only it's more beautiful, just as accurate, has a better safety allowing the gun to be carried cocked and locked (as well as a hammer drop feature). It's also far less expensive.

I, too, like a hammer driven ignition system. My favorite 9mm pistols are the second- and third-generation S&Ws (659 and 5906), but they are all-steel, and therefore too heavy for some people, but I love 'em! They, too, are gorgeous, which is why they, and the Taurus, are all popular TV pistols. Functionally, they're also superb.

Doesn't anyone like Glocks. If you are talking defense this is
the one that goes off all the time. It's also light and easy to
carry.

Baby Eagle is another CZ75 like gun, but for me it fits my grip much better, small fat hands short fingers. However, my go to gun in 9mm is a Glock 17 Gen4, it just works each and every time. I like the 1911 design in .45ACP but have not managed to get a 9mm 1911 so can not make any personal observations.

If you can live with 13 rounds, I'd consider a Browning Hi Power. Probably the best 9 MM semi-auto ever produced. It has been proven through several wars and has been the standard carry of police and military organizations around the world over the years, including the FBI and State Dept. Very accurate, ergonomically a dream, and easy to clean. I have carried one at work and in civilian life for years. Can't go wrong. I go with 124 gr. XTP's.

Yesterday at the gun show was the first time handling a CZ-75 Compact. The seller's selection was from a Nashville shop. Does this gun have the required features?

The message here is that I've never owned Any handgun in 9mm Luger, just .380 and 9x18 Mak. The 75 Compact would be the 9mm, were I to buy one for either carry or for the car.

Since your requirements don't allow for Glocks, I'd say that I liked my Sig 226, SP2022 and HK USP better than my CZ 75B. It didn't help that my CZ 75's rear sight fell right off of the slide one day while I was shooting it... If you were going to strand me on an alien planet full of nasties, and I could only take one of the pistols listed above (no Glocks allowed) I reckon I'd grab the 226 and have at it.

On the other hand, if I ever branch out into other brands of pistols again, I will probably pick up a Grand Power K100. I don't have any experience with them, but there are too many glowing reviews to ignore, and now that Century is importing them, I've seen them advertised during sales in the $370 range...

It isn't that I was unhappy with suggestions in a previous thread of mine but I finally decided that I wanted a 9mm hammer handgun which wasn't part of the criteria in the previous thread. There is, of course some overlap and I do apologize for it. Thanks to everyone who has or will offer suggestions. I have looked at some already, including the Beretta.

Good, you looked at the Beretta. You can stop looking at the rest now, you already saw the best.

j/k ... maybe ;)

I don't know but I just bought a Star 9 mm supper B 8+1 and it's the best little thing I have. Have a 38 snub nose , but I would take the 9 over it, have a few hand guns. Like them all but the 9 fits the bill for me.

Out of curriosity, why do you specifically want a hammer on your pistol?

I am just starting my gun collection. I first got a striker handgun and now I wanted to get a hammer one. Just something a little different :)

Beretta 92 / M9 sure has gotten popular in the last few weeks. Used to be only a couple guys would recommend it in a thread this long.

Gun hasn't changed, folks; it's still an ungainly behemoth for what it offers.

CZ 75B is my recommendation.
