What ammo have you bought 2022

So far all I've bought this year is 1 box 45-70 LeverEvolution for $58 and 3-250rd flats of Light and Heavy 12ga target loads for about $190 which isn'tbad for 750 rds of trap loads, 10-5rd boxes of 2¾" Federal 00 B, 10-5rd boxes of Federal 1oz Slugs for $6.99/5rd and Right now I've got my eye on a 2,000rd case of Aquila Rifle Match for $150.

My ammo situation was never dire save for getting a lil lower on 12ga target loads and 9mm than I care to, but now I'm seeing sub $300 cases of 9mm again and I was stocked well enough to shoot everything I pretty much wanted and my LGS has pretty much everything I need to start slowly stocking up again, lil by lil. I was pretty well situated at the start of this madness but now that it's evening back out again, I plan to double down. Not playing any games when it comes to ammo.

I also like to have a discretionary stock of ammo because had I done it, and I should have, I had the opportunity last year to trade $250 worth of 5.56 I acquired years ago for a brand new $800 S&W M66 Combat Magnum and now I really wished I'd done it.....

Added a new caliber early this year and bought 2 boxes to shoot (and keep the brass from) while gathering up dies and components.

Besides that, it's still far too expensive for my tastes, and I was well stocked on components for all my other calibers before this hit.

2,500 rds. of Russian .308, in the last three weeks (why lie about the source-we're big boys and girls.). The first 500 rds. was ordered almost as soon as I clicked "Buy Now" on the rifle.

Steel-cased ammo :what::eek:o_O is preferable in the 'HK clone' PTR-91: roller-Delayed Blowback. I would have bought it anyway due to prices less than US-made ammo.

It 'somehow' seems more rewarding Not to risk the violent extraction ripping the head from a weak brass cartridge, leaving the rest inside your chamber.

The fluting (gas in 'flutes' blows around the seated cartridge) doesn't always solve everything during extractions of weak cartridge casings.

I bought 2 boxes of 800 round Federal Champions today for $ 77 each directly from Federal. Since it was over $100 total there is free shipping.

My 617 really likes this ammo. I can shoot an entire Steel Challenge Match, over 200 rounds, without having to brush out my cylinders.

I did happen upon an okay deal for 154gr SP 7.62x39 ammo from SG. Got a few hundred rounds delivered. It's my wife's favorite hunting ammo.
I saw that as well. I do like that ammo and loading, for precisely the same reason as your lady wife. However, I have about 1,000 rounds of the Tula factory ammunition and a few hundred of the 125(=/-) grain ammunition for familiarization.
So I passed for the moment. It shoots satisfactorily from the CZ I bought.

The only thing I remember purchasing is some (overpriced) .22 long rifle.
Have .38 Special and .45 Auto ammunition for practice and casual matches to last me a while. Have a stash of 'serious' ammunition for the .45 ACP and the .38 Spl. I can coast for a while.

Comfortable on primers, can't find some powder I want, but I can eke by.

Only 22LR for me as well. I reload all the rest except for SD ammo.
None. In fact I have not purchased any factory ammo in 3 or 4 years, and then it was .22 rimfire. I reload everything else.
I've only bought .22 ammo in the last couple of years. Think I've picked up around 4K in the last couple months. Cheap, bulk Federal and Aguila stuff, averaging about .07/Rd.
Ditto!
I have not bought factory ammo for probably 10 years except for .22LR.

50 rounds of .357 for $50.00 at the local range last week.
Ouch! I bought a press 14 months ago, have gone to the range every week, still have 6K 38/357 boxed up and haven't bought factory ammo since. I have spent a significant amount on components though at inflated prices but my cost is @.25/round. I've got the time because I'm retired and I do enjoy loading. I thank the people who answered my questions on the reloading forum and pointed me in the right direction.

Last week I decided that I was not going to buy anything gun related in 2022. In 2021 I've probably spent more on gun related "Guns, ammo, holsters and whatever " than any previous 3 years or more. Enough is enough I said. No more ammo or anything till prices come down to reasonable.
Then, I remembered. I have very little 38spl hollow point. Haven't seen any in nearly two years.
I stopped by Dunhams just to check. Didn't really think they would have any and they did not. But, They had more handgun ammo than I've seen in one place in 2 years. Plenty of 9mm Blazer aluminum case. A lot of Winchester 40cal. Some 380. Some Federal 9mm. A lot of 22lr and even some 38sp and a little 357. Problem is all fmj. No hollow point.
So, No more untill prices drop to Reasonable. Except some 38spl hollow point.

Starting to make a little stock pile of Brown Bear 7.63x39 Subsonic. Plan on getting a rifle suppressor, and have a feeling this stuff will be impossible to come by soon. Also just added 8 boxes of steel 7.62x54r. Getting it while it's still cheaper than brass

I bought a couple 20 round boxes of Armscor 300 blackout 147 brass case Montana made, @$20 each at Runnings, a local farm & home store. Always good to find it in stock, and they appeared to have a plentiful supply.

.22 LR and air gun pellets. Glad to see CCI SV back at WM. Now that I have my suppressor in hand, I'm going to be shooting a lot more rimfire.
Now for things to get to the point where prices drop a bit and I can buy case lots again.

Bought my first actual firearms ammo of this year last Saturday. A 100rd box of CCI MiniMags.
