I'm looking at making a lube pad.. hey, I have a LOT of left over butcher block (like a 5 ft x 3ft block of it). Was gonna cut a bit out, square up the edges, then use a plunge router to make a pocket for a lube pad.. sooooo... what are they usually made from?
I'm using a mix of liquid lanolin and alcohol right now, and I find that spraying them with it actually requires me to wipe some back off (regardless on how light I spray) to keep from denting shoulders. I'm hoping a lube pad would allow for a lighter coating.
One of the options I'm looking at right now is a piece of latex foam (think magic eraser). I hear felt as well? would a clean cloth diaper folded around some sort of card also work?
