I have a Savage 110 in 308.

What calibers are available with this action that I can rebarrel to?

I already have a 30-06 & 6.5x55.

Just want to compliment these two with a samler caliber.

TIA

A 308 is a short action so the 3006 would not work eny way. You could go with only short action calabers like 223, 243, ext. Now if Savage uses a long action on the short action calabers your options are wide open. I know that CZ does this but I'm not sure Savage does. Sorry I couldn't help eny more than that.

Here's the specs...Short action is 8.75" long with a bolt traval of 4"
Long acting is 9.25" long with a bolt travel of 4.5"
So you can only go with short action calabers. But you can make up your own wild act round if you like like a 308/35 like a 35 Whellen short just a thought.

Like the .358 Winchester? Not exactly the smaller caliber the OP is looking for.

.22-250 perhaps?

Chances are if you have a short action, any of the rounds based on the 308 case, 243 win, 260 Rem, 7mm-08 Rem, 338 Federal, 358 Win, all would be compatible and use the same bolt face.
There are several wildcats that would be good too, but it's not for everyone.

You have two limitations here, the length of the action, and the size of the boltface. Since either the 6.5 or the .30-06 will cover about 90% of hunting opportunities in the continental US, I'd say go with something outside the range on either side. On the smaller side, maybe a varminting rig based on a .22-250. On the larger side, maybe a .338 Federal or a .358 Winchester. All will fit the boltface you have, and fit in the magazine well of your rifle. Seems to me you'd need a light .22 more than something 35 caliber.

A three digit model number is a LONG action, which is all savage made for years and years.

Meaning you can pretty much rebarrell the thing to anything you can imagine except for cartridges with a sub .473" case head.

Well you have the perfect weapon platform to build a 7mm.08. Wont have to change a thing other than the barrel. Bolt face is identical as well as be able to use your magazine and everything. The 7mm.08 is what the .308 WANTED to be but didn't quite get there. It is, in my lowly opinion, the absolute BEST white tail deer cartridge on the planet.
