Who makes the best 20 rounders and where can I find them? I'd prefer to buy new or like new high quality magazines, no rusted paperweights with weak springs.
The two 20 rounders I recently got from AIM were very nice finish and quality, and better than several that I got from Tapco.
The 20 rounders are an advantage in some situations, as they handle and balance better, fit in USGI magpouches and other pouches designed for M16 mags, and allow for a different ammunition type to be carried and recognized by feel, such as soft points in the 20 rd's, ball/hp in the 30's. Allows for versatility.
Recently bought some of the Hungarian 20-rounders from AIM myself. I have no complaints at all about the quality / condition. Haven't used 'em yet, so I can't comment on function, but I have no reason to believe that'll be problem either.
Hungarian and Chinese are the only manufacturers I know of. I think they were originally made for the Bullpup (Chinese) models of the AK and the 30 rounders wouldn't fit.
Ive got 7 from Tapco and they look and work great. I like'em cause one box of ammo fills one mag with no loose rnds. Makes keeping track of how much ammo i use a little easier.
