What are the three most reliable wonder nines ever made?

I agree with THR buddy Ala Dan that the Swiss SIG P210 definitely belongs in the group of most reliable "wondernines" (whatever that is). It's highly respected in Germany.

The nice thing about most Nines is that they generally work quite well out of the box. Just recently, I shot a friend's Baden-Wuerttemberg State Police turn-in Walther P5 with the heel-clip magazine release. It's certainly not the most recent development in pistol design but I really loved this gun, even though it had a fairly long DA trigger pull. One thing different to most other Nines is that it ejects to the left :p .

I really don't think you can narrow such a thing down to three, or even thirty. Since the 9mm's so ubiquitous, it's been subject to more tweaking and experimentation than any other round. It feeds flawlessly in any decent gun, and as a result, tons of really great guns have been made for it.

I think a better question would be, "what are the three LEAST reliable wondernines out there?" Excluding the Ring of Fire stuff, of course.

My personal picks for most reliable: Sig 228, Sig 225 and an old Glock 19 that just wouldn't die. (The Glock was before I saw the light.)

P-95
I have lost count of the number of rounds of all kinds of ammo mine has fired without one single problem.

Picking from my collection of 9mm's made by Sig, FN, Beretta, Glock and S&W I would have award #1 to the S&W 6906. Second and third would be the Beretta 92G and Sig 228. I shoot the Glock G19 a lot more regularly though so it has more opportunity to have a failure and also more chances for me to forget to clean it....

Some 9mm's do have problems though so I'm not sure that 9mm's jam less than other cal.'s. I owned a TZ-75 that would not shoot reliably with any ammo. This was before the CZ's could be imported. After a few months it was traded off at a gun show. (Sorry if it was any of you who ended up owning it)

You know. Now that I think about it, I can't ever remember my P5 ever jamming!!
However, I don't think it qualifies as a 9mm wunderwaffe!!!

My P99 is pretty decent.

My P95 is good as well.

My BHP is right up there with the other two!!

I guess that's three!! :D

Beretta 92FS, Our M9's have well over 50,000 rounds put through them and still function respectfully. I bought one of beretta's limited edition M9's and I absolutely love it. I would trust this gun with my life any day.

1. Beretta 92

2. Glock 17

3. Springfield XD9

I am partial to the beretta because I am made to carry it. Also I made the mistake of trading in one of my beretta's for a SW99. Take heed to what I say, STAY AWAY FROM THE SW99. Bad trigger, bad balance, etc..

From this thread it seems that most of the modern 9mm autoloaders are pretty darn reliable. In fact, the last unreliable 9mm I shot was a Stoeger Arms Luger, back in the early 1980s.
