h20 man, that's kind of a weird looking hammer. what is it?

jbauch, cool, but i'd ask that "smith" very specifically, exactly what he plans to do to "fit/tune" everything. AR15s are not custom 1911s. i wouldn't pay extra for any fitting, and i sure don't want some yahoo filing on random pieces parts.

It's my understanding that he's just going to accu-wedge and possibly do some smoothing on the crappy single stage RRA trigger. Other than that I don't know what else he would do? Either way he offered matching/tuning work at no cost - so it's not a penny out of my pocket.

This observation may be worthy of a separate thread, but when I bought my stripped lower at the last gun show, the dealer listed it as "other" on the new federal 4473, meaning that it was being transfered as neither a pistol nor a rifle at this point.

If I am correct, the 4473 as of Jan. requires this type of listing. So the question is, what is that reciever that you all have stashed, and is there a difference between what you bought before Jan. and now?

Additionally, what happens if a new ban goes into effect, and the receiver has not been assembled into a complete firearm?

Fella's;

Hmmmm, the state of Montana is seriously considering passing legislation exempting in-state transactions from Federal reporting. Since the Feds use the interstate commerce laws as the springboard to regulate, etc., it may fly.

If it passes, and it might just do that, I'd go down to the guy who makes 80% lowers & buy a few just to burn another ulcer in the BATF's collective guts. No tellin' what I'd decide to do with 'em.

I bought a ton when they were $75/ea and got laughed at. I haven't needed to buy one for years, and I've sold some here and there. :D

Guys ... they're gun parts ...

... I have bins and bins of parts for you to drool over, if that's what you're into ...

... I don't know what sort of virus or subliminal advertising has persuaded so many otherwise ordinary, sensible gun nuts to hoard magazines (not cartridges; magazines) and gun parts.

It's crazy out there.

I bought one over a year ago. I built it up 3 or 4 months ago. I have a couple of parts kits put back, but no lowers.

Cling to your guns, ammo, mags and parts - gather more if you are able.
H20 MAN, you and I are on the same page. Now isn't the time to sell, it's the time to get more if you can afford it :)

you mean LPKs? or all the parts except the lower?
kinda backwards from everyone else... how come?

Sorry. LPK's.

Wish I had whole parts kits, and lowers to go with them. I have enough for me though. Can't complain. 0 to 4 in the year prior to the election getting ready for possible bad times.

Waiting on them to come in. I'll build them eventualy. Either once Noveske starts taking orders again or CDD releases their light weight mid length.

I haev a stripped lower that I bought to build into a USPSA "Open" rifle. I'm not competing in Open until after the 2009 Nationals, so it will lay dormant until then.
