What rifle are you taking deer hunting. I can't decide between my ruger 243, and my kimber 270 wsm.

Tikka T3 Lite in .270. 3-9x40 Nikon ProStaff and a 6-9" Caldwell Bipod.

I've got some 130 gr SSTs loaded up and shooting well.

I hope that the 270wsm doesnt die off. I really like mine. Short action, less than expected recoil and accurate.

When we go up North I will take three rifles. My favorite is a custom 30-06 on a Mauser action with an octagon barrel. I checked it again today and its right on where I want it at 200 yds shooting 155 gr Berger VLD's.

The primary back up wet weather rifle is a Kimber Montana 270 WSM shooting 150 gr SST's.

I have two .270Ws and a .243. No question about which caliber I will be using. Either of the .270Ws. As to which .270? It doesn't make any difference. Both are sub-MOA. One is a Winchester M70 and the other is a T/C Venture.

This year I'm taking at least 3 different guns deer hunting.
1. Howa 1500 30-06
2. Marlin Levergun 30-30
3. Marlin Levergun 45-70

I think the 30-06 will get first shot (pun intended lol) and then the 30-30 and if I can I'll give the 45-70 a hunt too...

Pistol Time in the Ozarks.

A Savage Sierra in 300WSM is my go to gun but this year I plan on using a Contender pistol in 7mm TCU. Worked up a load with 120gr Nosler BT that shoots very well.

Hopefully my custon 1903A3 pseudo scout. Hope my gunsmith can get it wrapped up here shortly. If not, it'll be a plugged Mossberg 590A1 SPX throwing buckshot or a good slug.

A win 94 AE in 30/30( 170 gr fn cast ) and a H&R handi in .44 mag ( 240 gr cast swc) Where I am in Alabama they should work just fine.
