Gun related Thanksgiving--what are you thankful for?

1. The 2nd Amendment. This country might suck, but the rest of the world sucks a whole lot more. That may not have been the case had it not been for that pesky piece of paper that keeps the government off our backs.

2. Ernest Langdon. Truly a credit to the shooting world; busting caps with the 92 wouldn't be the same had it not been for him.

3. Oleg and creating the most civil online hangout. For my friends on THR who probably understand me more than my 'real' friends.

4. Sheriff Mike Carona. For making Orange County a relative safe haven for gun owners in the LA area.

5. Our armed forces. God bless them.

6. Carbon creations :D

Friends-real and THR
THR and Oleg for hosting it
family
My new Ruger SP101 :D
food
our country and the wonderful 2nd amendment that helps put it above all other coutries
being able to drool over all the guns I want at local shops and them being extra polite cause they know my daddy ;)
awesome well paying job that may eventually earn me enough money to buy gun number 2
Of course the best for last my hunny who loves the fact that I am into guns and supports my hobby along with all the other wonderful things about him.

My family's health.

A house full of friends at Thanksgiving...35 and counting! :what:

That I have a good job, where I can earn enough to provide my family a good house (but not the nicest), drive a good vehicle (but not the nicest), wear good clothes (but not the nicest).....you get the idea. IOW, enough that we don't want for anything substantial, but not so much that we aren't humble.

That our soldiers, marines, sailors and airmen are all willing to go halfway around the globe to fight an enemy who seeks nothing less than to bring us down solely because we are successful at being civilized. I also deeply appreciate the sacrifices their families are making throughout all this.

That we live in a country of 230 million (give or take) and can have an election decided by less than 500--and still make a peaceful transition. There are scores of countries around the globe that have had martial law declared for much less. And to keep this OT, I firmly believe our Second Amendment has been fundamental in the peace we've managed to keep since our creation.

And, of course, THR.

THE USA

Sometimes, things about this country don't always suit us, but THE USA is still so much better than anywhere else in this world.

Our Armed Forces

Thank God daily that there are still men & women who understand that Freedom is not free, and know that the cost of Liberty may well be their life. They are not afraid to pay the ultimate price.

Loved ones

Good to have and hold, in times both bitter and better. Parents of both me & Mrs. Foggy are long gone on to their rewards; frequently, I wish I had paid more attention to their sage counsel.

And thanks to all the "Family & Friends" I have met here on 'The High Road'. May the God of your choosing grant you an extra blessing this holiday.

Amen

I'm just thankful that Skunkabilly was able to get thru a whole post without using the dreaded "ta****al" word!:D

A courageous president who has stood up to the liberal nay sayers & took the fight to the terrorists....
Health & well being of family, friends (cyber & otherwise)

I'll go another one for Ernest Langdon! He stayed on the phone with me for an hour today helping me figure out what was wrong with the firing pin on my Vertec!

THE USA

Family & friends and this website.

Other things include middle class job, middle class house, middle class lifestyle, middle class gun taste (unless you bring one yourself, you'll never find an engraved and inlayed gold plated gun with a highly burnished curly walnut stock in my home) and a great library.

In no particular order, I yam thankful for:

1) Stadank hasn't exercised unrighteous dominion on me.

2) F-Troop hasn't no-knocked my shack.

3) Enough firearms.

4) Military past and present. Freedom costs blood.

The ability to still recognize right from wrong. Otherwise there would be a lot of people stacked up that really need it. Reasonably healthy family that is still together. A roof that doesn't leak and a warm place to sleep. More than enough to eat because I'm too damn fat. The wheathreall to have most of the toys or tools that seem necessary. A country where all the above is allowed.

I'm thankful that I've made it to 50 years old this month with good health, a good wife, a good paying union job, and I'm still able to laugh at the absurdity of the human race.

My list would be way too long to even complete!

But examples ..... a wife I adore, my own kids who are grown up and married but are my best friends....... every day I wake and see the new day and the sun.

Family & friends. Good health. My Church.

Grateful my first grandchild is healthy and happy, and so are his parents.

I'm thankful that the UN Council on Small Arms had its resolution so watered down my the USA. (That was like 2 years ago, but I'm STILL THANKFUL.)

I'm thankful that reloading has allowed me to continue shooting while the budget was shrinking.
