Springfield Hellcat 9MM in the summer and Glock 32 .357 Sig in the winter.

How is the .357 Sig compared to 9mm? I have been considering acquiring one.

Imo 357 is really only better than 9mm at specific tasks.

For the most part the extra capacity of the 9mm gives it the edge over the 357.

357 is technically more powerful and faster moving than your typical 9mm but it's it enough to justify the reduced capacity?

Only you can decide.

357SIG and +P+ 9mm are very similar in power. I caught the 357SIG bug about 15 years ago, and after spending some time with it, came to realize 9mm was more versatile and even shooting +P+, didn't beat some of the guns up as much.

Its an interesting round, but pretty much a one-trick pony.

My 9MM Hellcat is 13 rounds and I use 124 gr HST for summer carry. Smaller profile and easier to conceal with lighter clothes. 1150 fps 364 fpe advertised out of a 5” barrel so I lose speed/energy out of the shorter barrel.

The .357 Sig is a Glock 32 with 15 rounds of 125 gr Underwood ammo with a Speer Gold Dot JHP. 1475 fps with 604 fpe at the muzzle advertised out of a 5” barrel. Same scenario as above with slight performance loss since my G32 has a 4” barrel.

2 different animals based on gun size but the .357 Sig has a bit more punch that I prefer when jackets and sweaters come out in my colder climate.

Others will argue it’s not necessary to change rigs but it gives me piece of mind and that’s all I need.

I normally carry a 45 cal 1911,but lately I've been carrying my new Springfield SA-35.It's lighter and I like the 15 round capacity.As an added bonus I can use the same ammo in my Sig P938 backup.We have several nuisance black bears running around the farm,so when I'm out and about checking fence,etc.,I carry a 10MM 1911 with a Leupold Delta Point Pro that I also deer hunt with.For summer,it'll be my Performance Center Shorty Forty.It's a lot of pistol in a small package.
