As LA and MS have now declared breechloading exposed hammer single shots of .35 caliber or larger legal in primitive weapons deer season, I am interested in a 35 whelen. i have a scoped handi rifle in 44mag and find that is marginal for 100+ yard shots.
I would like recommendations as H&R, CVA,and perhaps Rossi and Thompson Center(perhaps others) may make a rifle that meets these specs in 35 Whelen. Your thoughts and recommendations are requested.
After review of the ballistics of the 35 whelen, it seems that it would be a good choice with the proper loads for targets at 200+yds. am i correct on this assumption?
My goal is a very accurate scoped 35 Whelan using my reloads for 1 to 2 MOA at 100yds and perhaps 2-4 MOA at 200 yds.
