I have a lot of 30-06. I enjoy futzing, so what other calibers or rounds can I make from these cases. I don't mind experimenting. Winters coming and it might make for a fun project and maybe a new gun.
Ideas?

.270 although it will be a little short
.280 remington
35 Whelen
.25-06

If you really wanted to do some work, you could make .308 and all of it's children cartridges and probably many of the x57 Mauser derivatives

Here's an interesting challenge. Try to make some 240 Weatherby cases from .30-06 cases.

The 240 Weatherby is basically a .30-06 case with a magnum style belt that has been necked down to 240 or 6mm. The trick is to swage the belt on the case. I've heard of it being done, but have never seen a good write up of it.

Also, with the neck reduction the necks would probably need to be annealed and turned to reduce thickness. A lot of interesting problems in this conversion.

My conversion project for this winter is much easier. I plan on converting some 30-30 Winchester cases to 30 Remington.

Isn't basically everything derived from 06?

I think I'd do one over bore and one under bore. 338-06 and 25-06

Fun jewelry, arts & crafts? Thinking outside the box here, bare with me.

*While editing this post, due to the wrongful usage of the word "bear" instead of "bare", I was struck by idea lightining.
A pro 2A Stieff styled Teddy bear with the rim and spent primer in it's ear instead of a silly rivet or a button.

Go forth and profit OP, I only want 10% gross profit.

I believe it should have been bear with me as in forbearance or patience. As it is written I think you are inviting people to undress with you. :)

Good idea with the jewelery though.
