What can you tell me about the two-tone MK9 Kahr?

I am considering purchasing this Kahr and was hoping for some information from those of you more knowledgeable than myself. What are the pro's and con's of the two tone? Some are saying this is a limited edition while others say it was just a lower cost run. Is this particular model a good one and was is produced during a time that Kahr was still working out many kinks?

I'm assuming you're talking about the Kahr E9, their economy version of the K9. It's the same gun as the K9, with a couple of differences. First, the front sight is pinned in (like a Glock) as opposed to being dovetailed in (like the K9). Secondly, either the frame or the slide (usually the frame) is finished in a black non-reflective coating of some kind. Thirdly, it only comes with one magazine. Other than those things, it's the same gun. Kahr made it as their economy model, a less expensive alternative to the K9.

I picked one up for my wife for $300. She loves it, fits her hands, and shoots like a dream. I think it's one of the best buys in handguns right now, if you can find one .

There was an early, limited edition. Goes back to maybe '98, '97. Serials began with LTD-. Slide was coated in Birdsong's Black T finish. I think those are completely different than the current crop of two-tone pistols.

The range shop I visit had one(MK9) recently for $399 and it took several weeks to finally move it.

Can't speak for the two tone MK9, but I absolutely adore my all stainless MK9. It is a bit picky on the ammo you feed it (115 Win Silvertips work good - short bullet) but it amazes me how small and thin it is and how accurate it delivers in such a tiny package.

My MK9 is one of the first generation and so it is a really quality watch like piece (with the recoil spring replaced). Some of the later MK9s had some issues as do the polymer PM9s.
