What do have waiting for you in the reloading room?

Reloading has been temporarily suspended due to atmospheric undulations aka heat waves . Looking to the Northwest for countering cold front ,so until further developments appear ,I also am gonna enjoy a cold brew :D

I'm going to finish a batch of reduced 30-06 155 ELD-M loads with IMR4198 that I had started earlier this year, but didn't load them all because I was running low on powder. It's my preferred load for my old 1903 and M1917 rifles. Apparently someone on Camp Perry Commercial Row had a nice selection of powder and a buddy who is up there got me another lb., and some Varget as well. By my count I have 109 more to load.

Being retired I mostly stay caught up on things. The exception to this is that I save the range brass that I collect all year and tumble it, sort it and store it away during the cold months after hunting season is over. Doing it this way gives me something to do for a few days while its too cold and miserable to get out. Anyway, whats waiting on me? There is a stainless wash tub of range brass sitting on my shelf waiting on my attention!

Got a tub full of sized and prepped 45-70, 9mm, 7.62x39, 7.62x51, and 223. Abt 200 rds each. I need to get these all primed next.

Also have some 32-20 brass converted to 7.65 Mannlicher on the way, and a set of CH dies.

Those of you who fire under cover of enclosure or canopy ,be mindful of sound foam powder flash absorbancy or LACK of it !.

I have baffles which hang down inside My shooting shed as well as walls that are lined ,so as to cut down reverberation of muzzle report .

Well it seems I was a little to close to a couple of them . My 7.5 and or 4" .44 Mag. cylinder gas fire did this . Not likely to burn as sound foam is fire retardant but sure WON'T do what it's intended too do either and the stuff ISN'T cheap or even reasonably priced .:(

Wow!

Yeah and here I was watching the muzzle and the sights . Apparently the cylinder gap breathes fire also with 28.0 gr. Win 296 and 22.2 gr. 2400 , using 225 FTX & XPB of which the latter I've decided will be MY hunting carry load . Weight retention and diameter after impact being the reason .

I unfortunately have to pack it all up and move it by the end of the yr. My missus suddenly passed earlier this month, and I decided to sell off everything and fast track to a semi retirement at the cabin in northern Michigan.
Damn do I have a ton of stuff, I reckon it'll be one trailer load in itself. Not looking forward to it, and believe me, I'll be happy when that part is done

Where did this thread come from and how have I not seen it before now?
Started in June of 2022? Wow.🤪

I've got too much gardening and outside work to get in my reloading room much lately, so my list is gonna take a while to catch up..
Still got the 45c brass from my last two silhouette matches needs to be deprimed. Fortunately I still have enough loaded for one more match and another 300rds of new brass primed and waiting.
Got a bunch of 270 and 300wm brass from AJC1 needs to be sorted and loaded up with some 130 and 180 Nosler ballistic tips.
Got a six station Lyman press still needs to be mounted.
Need to load up some more 160ftx for my and my Bil's 30-30.
Got some cast .357 bullets and brass from AJC1 needs to be loaded up and tested.
Need to load up some .243 for my niece and some 6.5cm for Sil.
Also have a few new powders and loadings on the list to load and test: 7828ssc and Retumbo for 300wm with some 220gr eldx,
TAC for .223 and some , and a few others. Got a lot of test loads in several calibers need to be chronographed and tested for grouping. Don't when any of this is gonna happen cause velvet season is around the corner , but it will all work out eventually.🙂

A small sampling of what's waiting for me: Over 10,000 12 ga. hulls, @1500 .45 ACP primed another 1000 or so tumbled, @500 .223 primed, another 500 or so tumbled, about 100 .30-30 tumbled, 100 7.62x54R primed, @ 300 38 Spl. primed. I have to clean up from working on my son's guns, and I have to clean my Trap gun.

My condolences. That’s a rough time ahead. Prayers and well wishes, bud. Keep us up to date and if you need, ask.

Thread was started by @GeoDudeFlorida in between trips to cardiac care since he never could actually get into reloading room could only think about it.

I am truly sorry for your loss. My Missus just got out of the hospital after spending 82 days there. There were a few times that I didn't expect Her to come home. Take Care!

To keep the thread on track, I have a half dozen piles of brass separated into calibers that will tumble together that I need to tumble. Prolly start tomorrow.

Hmmmm. I have got 357 brass waiting to be reloaded. Might actually get to it this weekend. Looking to load 100 rds. I am waiting on a 45-90 rifle and 45-90 brass to arrive, so technically, I am needing to get to that in the reloading room. I at least have the bullets and primers. I load in small batches and i do little tasks each week, so nothing is usually waiting too long.
