Well not really home made but more modified. Started out as a Lee 140gr SWC that couldn't be loaded in my 9mm worth a darn so instead of just throwing the mold in the trash I removed all the material below the second lube groove and the groove itself along with the crimp groove.

Still has a ways to come as the mold needs cleaned up and I plain on removing all the groove and coating it with the stuff from Bayou bullets. No idea if she'll fly straight but sure looks different.

Those look pretty nasty, I wonder how they will feed. If they are soft lead I would worry about the nose being damaged on going into battery.

Does look fun to play with.

How much do you think that'll weigh? And yea, you'll certainly need a custom seater stem.. though I make my 140's almost look like that seating them.. lolz

I think I wouldn't want to take one in the chest

I can only imagine how the tip will collapse and expand. I bet this would create a nasty temporary wound cavity. Could you imagine if it were jacketed right up to the tip( just below the first shoulder down). Diane Feinstein and Bloomberg would have a heart attack if they seen these...lol.

Right now there coming in a 105grs which is light than I would have liked but removing the lube groove will probably gain me another 5grs.

Heart attack you say.....whats there email address again?

The Lee 105 is a fancy --deleted-- So is the 140.

I'm interested to see how these fly, my first thought would be that the bearing surface might be too far back from the center of gravity to stay stabilized at longer distances, but I'm no expert!

I'd think they would tumble in flight unless the bullets are absolutely balanced in their spherical shape in the front.

Well loaded 50rd today with my Lee seat/crimp die and all went fine did not deform or hurt the bullet in any way.

Started off by shooting 5 over the chrono and the average was 975ish fps which I was happy with but the down side is when I moved to the paper. First five at the paper all tumbled as did the rest so I will have to retire this mold to the trash. But overall it was a fun project

Those will not be stabilized to the point of a slight eccentricity making them erratic.
