I am seriously looking at the Tikka T3 in stainless. I am curious however as I have not seen one yet in person, I plan on visiting Cabelas and looking for one to see. I have seen some guns that say stainless but it looks like its been painted on, a gray like color. I really like the looks of the Ruger GP100 pistol in Stainless my friend has. The Ruger has a nice satin stainless finish, which I love. Is this what the Tikka looks like or does it look painted on?

Thanks!!

It's bead blasted, not brushed satin nor like the Ruger matte gray coated finish.

Thanks

Thanks I was afraid of that---too bad, I really like that brushed satin finish.
I like the brushed satin because fine scratches can usually be buffed out, unlike the bead blasted or the blued versions.

thanks again

See the gun in person before u make your decision The Tikka finish is excellent.

Im with Kzone on this one. I was recently out hunting with my Tikka Varmint and my Ruger M77 Hawkeye Stainless which has the matte finish. Both rifles got a bit of rough treatment over the week. The Tikka finish is still unmarked and looking new still. The Hawkeye on the other hand, its finish has started to rub off in places already. This was the Rugers first time out hunting. Im now looking into having the Hawkeye polished to match my M77 MK2's satin finish. I havent been able to fault my Tikka.

i have the tikka super varmint in stainless and it looks sweet. its not like nickel but definatley does not look painted on.i would describe it as a matte kind of finish. when u see the bore and the outside barrel it is sexc. it is my favorite gun from the way it shoots to the way it looks. the only lagitamate complaint u could have is the plastic stock witch i prefer. i would highly recomend it
