What firearm fired today?

Good thing you didn't try a 3rd shot with that luck, may just have bad a band break lol.
Very possible. I've had been smacked by more than one band, blown up more than one decent recurve, and hit myself with a ricocheted throwing star......I do much better with guns..... usually.

In my defense, jaggedy lava rocks fly funny.

Had my HK VP9 out but didn't have a chance to shoot it as there was yard work to be done as the kids and grandkids are coming over today for a cookout. Going out to dinner next weekend with some good friends of ours as they are very interested in learning how to shoot and want to get their CCWs. So I will be spending some time at the range with them in the near future.

What firearm did you shoot today?

Mine was a Ruger Stainless 7 1/2" .22/.22 Mag. with the express sights.
Yesterday
2 Glock .30's a SF & and an S in .45ACP.
And a Glock 27 that was converted to a G-26 .
Total rounds were just about 200 [ with a blood blister on my trigger finger ].

I played with my newly built AR15 SPR upper on steel at 200 & 300 while breaking in the barrel. Also chrono'd a load for a reference point.

Yesterday a friend came over with his neighbor who's interested in trying IDPA, so we set up a couple stages and went through some of the match particulars like table top starts, fault lines, use of cover, reloads, scoring etc.

IMG_20200809_161053.jpg I had some pretty good grins today, along with my 11 yo daughter who got to take video of me shooting a Magnum Research BFR in .450 Marlin. I've never shot any real big revolvers save for maybe .44 mag but this thing wasnt even on the same page. The guy at the range who insisted I shoot it said it's one of the biggest revolvers made, I'm inclined to believe him.

I put a 5 round cylinder into a 12" steel gong from 50 yards off hand. The guy said that was really, really good for first time shooting a BFR. It was quite an experience, my daughter was grinning g ear to ear. We just had fun today. She got to shoot her Glock 44 for the first time today and was ringing steel pretty decently for her first time with that gun which even I have a hard time figuring the sites on it from distance. With the ruger 10/22 she was shooting real tight @ 50 yards. I was tickled with her progress. Shes a good lil shooter, no flinching.

Plus we had the added bonus of that guy showing up with the .44mag and BFR .450 marlin and being very generous with his ammo.... good times....

Saturday? I was playing with my new Ruger .375. Why did I get it? Why not! I put a Boyd's custom stock on it to increase the weight and a Kick-eese recoil pad. Now it is only brutal. :)
Which Ruger do you have?

One of our range buddies heard mine going off, and came down to see what we were doing. Think the .375 got passed around as much as the 6.5s and handguns did this weekend.

Doc
Got a session scheduled later today with an old lady who is scared to death about current times and lives alone.
I use 4 guns 22 ssa revolver, 22/45 auto, 38 special and 9 mm.

Sounds like a good mix. I think when I take them to the range I will have them try a .22 revolver (S&W Model 34), a .22 semi-auto (Beretta Model 70S), a .38 Special revolver (in a S&W Model 686), and a 9mm. semi-auto (Browning Hi-Power).

I often ask myself that same question, Loon Wulf. Probably for the same reason I have never fired two other guns I own, A C-96 Mauser and a T-series HiPower. One was made in 1913 and the other in 1968. Both guns have never been fired after leaving the factory. I suppose it is the collector in me
Fair enough....hope you at least take them out and pla....uh....inspect them regularly.

Too blasted hot out there today. May head out this evening though.
Yesterday, I fired a few handfuls of Remington 22LR Golden Bullets through my Model 17 S&W.
