What gun has the features I need?

As much as I like the 1911 pistol I think you might be disapointed in a full-sized Government Model in 9mm. This handgun was designed around the .45 ACP cartridge, and it's larger then necessary for the Luger round. While the Commander sized guns seem to work O.K. with their shorter, lightened slide the longer and heavier full-sized slide sometimes causes functioning problems because of issues concerning the impulse necessary to cycle it.
