Seems I didnt put a precise enough description in my former thread which led folks astray, hence it being closed down. But feel free to discuss what 'gun related' items you are researching. Mine are gun related as most posts were, and the same as the other thread, being tactical flashlights for levers and sleeping mats for overnight hunting.

Actually scrap it folks. Thought I would give it a second shot. But mods closing down a thread because of a missing word is pretty ridiculous. 14 of the posts on that thread were gun related anyway, so folks were staying between the lines. If a few posts strayed so what. It would be like closing threads because some fella decided to have a 'joke' or say 'thanks' or mention he is 'having a great day', unecessarily heavy handed. That might do for me and this forum. I'll take my free speech elsewhere ;)

Edited . . .

I was researching Streamlight weapon lights for carbines and long guns. Made a pick a couple days ago and now am waiting on an arrival of a TLR RM1.

I'm still perusing over all sorts of S&W revolvers right now in either .357 magnum or .22 magnum. Not many new ones (or old ones) to pick from right now unless I want to pay 15 to 20% above retail.

To try to keep this actually going where I think it was intended, I'm researching option and availability for a folding brace of some sort to mount on the pic rail on the back end of a currently unobtainum Ruger PC Charger. To make the search more difficult, as a left handed shooter, I intend to move the charging handle to the left side, so need a right folding brace that will still allow ejection and operation in the folded configuration. I'm looking more for a triangle folding brace, but I would welcome all suggestions to add to my search.

I’ve spent years and years acquiring modern defensive weaponry that’s in common usage. Along with parts, mags, ammo, and duplicates or even triples.

My attention is now turning to firearms that will be acquired for enjoyment. 1911’s, Beretta pistols, bolt action rifles, etc.

Just got a TLR RM2 in the mail today for my long gun. Love my TLR1 I got a few months ago, infact I haven't met a streamlight I don't like!

I've been deep onto cleaning tools and little accessories for the AR, as well as general Firearm tools, as I tend to tinker and prefer to fix stuff myself as much as possible.

Although I've got an extra AR15 lower, barrel (Larue PredatAR) and Toolcraft nitrided BCG, about the only things I'm lookin for are bullets (for reloading) to keep shooting the 65 guns I've got, and a crossbow to expand my deer season. I've got pretty much all of my AR15 bases covered, so I'll probably flush out the lower as I see parts on sale.

Researching general forestry management for my conservation use property tax deductions on the land I own and hunt on.

I have a wooden butcher block table in the middle of the reloading room. I bought one of these Husky 2 drawer work tables as a computer station since I full time telework now.

Like it so much I want one for the reloading room in the 24X62 inch size to replace the butcher block. Very solid. Almost zero flex, Great adjustability up and down. In fact, I can raise it so high it would help me significantly for detail work in reloading or general gun cleaning. Would also increase my work table surface and since you have the option for coasters (coasters and height adjustable feet come with it) I could roll it out of the room for additional space if required.

I’ve looked all over the internet but no one has them in stock. They are sold out nation wide it seems. Dang! Probably folks like me buying them to telework.

I'm trying to find a period correct version or a 2-3 rifle rack for my 63 Land Rover.

Research is looking for old photos too in case I just make one. I find across the dash but can't use one as my '63 has a later Defender dash.

I find vertical mounts but my time in the Army makes me hate those. I've seen Rovers overseas with diagonal racks, above and behind the seat racks and rear-window horizontal racks but can't seem to find a single photo.

I tried my 3-gun rack from my Scout but it doesn't look right. Maybe too modern or too American. Can't quite tell why I don't like it in the Rover.

The other occupying my time is the mystery of a *J. Sutherland* muzzle-loader.

Current project is researching which new subcompact .40 S&W caliber handgun to purchase.
Glock G27 Gen5 seems to be likely choice. Contemplating Springfield Armory XD series, too.
Open to other subcompact .40 S&W ideas since I am in the "researching" phase as thread asked!

On the s&w revolvers the 22 mag is a blast to shoot i bought one last summer and put a vortex dot on it an awesome revolver. The 357 is good also the 22 mag is cheaper to shoot and ammo is obtainable.

Currently researching the ideal barrel length for a 7mm-08. Picked up a mint Thompson / Center Custom Shop barrel for an Encore rifle but it's 26" long. Seems too long for my tastes on an Encore. Thinking about having it cut down a bit and the muzzle re-crowned. But how much shorter? Or should I leave it as is? I'm open to suggestions from all the collective knowledge here on this web site.
