On that last pic. is that a Ruger LCP? It's very compact for carry.

Carry gun

I'm a fan of .40, I tried a 1911 .45 and was unimpressed. I have two .40 pistols, a Glock model 22 (full sized) and an M&P40c compact. IMO the compact is pushing the lower limits of what I want to shoot .40 with. The recoil is a but stout. IMO 9mm is a great round for smaller pistols. A 9mm S&W Shield is on my wish list.

I typically carry a Sig 228 in 9mm. It's not too difficult to conceal with the right holster, and it gives me quite a few rounds of 9mm (often times I carry an extra mag with it as well).

The nearest police were the armed responce unit ie 2 firearmes trained officers ,they both carried sigs im not up on sig models but they were in 9mm .the 1 police officer was a lefty he had his holster on the left leg but the gun was set up right handed ,i asked why he hasnt changed the mag catch to left and i could not belive the answer he said the gun is not only his its a general issue gun .so in short every time his on duty he could be carring a different gun .how is he supposed to deffend himself and others if he carnt train and get to know his firearm .

I bet they were either Sig 226s, though they could have been Sig 229s. As far as setting up the gun for the lefty, with practice it isn't too difficult to use your trigger finger to activate the mag release, and to reload you could just slingshot the slide (not too much slower than using the slide release). And as long as the weapons in the rotation were the same, there shouldn't be enough difference in them to really matter if he gets the same one every time (though I will admit having your own weapon is preferable).

Police carry a Sig 9mm? Why not the Sig .45?

In Europe 9mm is much more prevalent than .45. It is also the military issue caliber, so it's not surprising that the police carry the same.

I carried an SW99-40 for almost a year, then recently switched to a Glock 26.

The .40 cal has a very snappy recoil that is worse to me than a .45 ACP.

Anyone here carry or fire that Kahr 9mm? I think it's model number is AMP 9? Not sure but it has a silver finish on the slide, DAO with a long pull for safety. Striker fired like a Glock. It's very compact for a 9mm might even be one of the smallest 9mm pistols out there.
