What guns are offered in a single stack 9mm?

I'll throw my hat into the ring for the Sig 239. My 9mm had the best single action trigger I've ever felt on a DA/SA pistol. I regretted selling it so much that I eventually bought another one in .40.

I have a Sig 239, like it a bunch; another one I've got on my must have list is the P7M8. Would really like to handle an STI LS, seems a nice alternative to the Sig. But, they are not available in my "zone".

QB what did you do to that top 225? looks like it had the hook removed.

As everyone is telling you there are lots of good single stacked 9mm out there. And some are going to disagree with this but I think the P7 is your best bet. I have a Sig 225, a STI LS and a P7M8 I also had a Kahr K9 plus my friend had a Springfield compact 9mm. P7 will save you money in the long run because you won't want anything else. Compact, 4"bbl fast accurate. It is like owning a BMW it will spoil you to everything else. ;)

faustulus -- sorry to show my ignorance but what is a "hook"? The gun was bought new and came in a blue hard case. My pictures are normally poor quality but if you tell me what part of the gun you're asking about I can take a better picture of it.

QB --
Probably not ignorance on your part but poor communication skills on mine. The trigger guard on 225s are square with a "hook" that curves out toward the barrel. Your's looks rounded, I can't tell if it is pushed in the carpet or if it was removed.
I had a Sig 220 in 38 super that had the trigger guard rounded.

The original post mentions a desire for a gun that feels good in the hand and is as thin as a 1911 through the grip. No problem and it`s not necessary to go to single stack. My CZ-75B with Hogue cocobolo grips is actually *thinner* through the grip than any 1911 with factory grips that I`ve measured (with dial calipers)! Hi Power with Spegel grips I`d guess would be also. I know it`s a pretty radical concept but actually measuring things can yield some suprising results. ;) As for grip feel,it`s been argued with some merit that the HiPower and CZ-75 have the best feel of any service sized autos bar none. A good friend who bought a CZ after trying mine says it feels better than sex! I dunno if I`d go that far but it`s still pretty good. :) Marcus

CZ

While I will take into account your CZ-75 grip testimony, I have shot a friends CZ75 PRC (compact), and while I shot it well and the recoil was very managible, it still ''felt'' (subjective) fatter to me in my hand. I didn't wear it in a belt holster, so I don't know how it conceils. The whole purpose for me looking for a single stack is to fine a nice lightweight 9mm that I can carry IWB when I don't feel like carrying my Colt 1991A1 in my Don Hume JIT holster. I will check out the CZ again, but right now I am leaning towards the Sig 225, Sig 239, and S&W 3913 (or 3913TSW). Thanks for all the replies.

faustulus -- you're right....it is just hidden in the picture...I need to re-take the picture. Didn't notice that....it does look odd.

Here's one that shows the trigger guard correctly.

Alligator Al,

That's a nice looking Phaser I there. Who made it? Oh, and the S&W looks ok also...
