Mom passed in '06, Dad is on his way out in a matter of months. Both in their 50's too... Anyway, I got mom's Nylon 66 (thread to follow when I finally take it out and shoot it) and when dad goes I get my old Glock 23 back. He keeps it with him on the couch of infirmity, in case somebody breaks in. My brother gets the old Stevens single shot 20 that he calls the "long Tom" due to it's long barrel. Bro also gets some other guns, mostly single shot H&Rs that he gave to our dad trying to connect with him and share a common interest.
I have several guns that I intend to use to teach my son (and any future siblings) with. The Savage 24 in .22WMR over .410, my NEF with it's many barrels, my old Daisy Powerline 860, that Nylon 66, etc. The only real hole in my pay-it-forward plan is a .22 handgun. I plan on remedying that later in the year, probably a couple Rugers. I plan on planting a lot of seeds before I miss the opportunity, as I regularly see how fleeting life can be.
