What height are these rings? They are the perfect height for me, but I want some Burris Zee rings, and want to make sure I order the correct height. I'm really thinking these are mediums, but I want to make sure. I still have lots of clearance and probably could go with lower rings clearance wise, but how it's mounted works well for me as I get a good cheek weld. So should I order the mediums or do these look like lows?

1" ring and thanks for the link. I will check it out. I did measure it, but couldn't get a good picture with of the caliper on the ring.

There is no set sizes for the various measurements you can have ring to ring....

A .500" high ring may be classified medium by one manufacturer and high by the other manufacturer.

What did your caliper say the measurement was....?

Just reaching way up, I'll 'guess' that ring to be in the .250" to .375" height range.....?

From the bottom flat part of the ring where it would sit on top of the mounting base, to the inside of the ring on the bottom measured .383.

well, there you go, your rings are .383"...... more than likely considered 'High' height by most manufacturers. (for a Weaver style 1" ring)

You might want to go with the 'High' Burris SIGNATURE Zee rings, even IF you don't use the signature rings, you'll still have to use 'High' Burris rings.

How much objective bell clearance did you have with those rings? You may be able to go down to medium height rings IF you have an excess of clearance between the objective bell and the barrel.

Thanks, I found a height chart for the Burris Signature Zee rings and it said their high ones were .42 and their mediums were .27. So those were kind of in between. I ended up ordering the mediums as I think they will work as I have a decent bit of extra clearance with those rings, but at the same time the cheek weld was perfect and I didn't really want the scope any higher or lower. I will see how the mediums do. I hope they work well.

If you're mounting them on a bolt action, don't forget to consider the bolt handle to ocular bell clearance. A nice, low mounted scope is great so long as you can remove the bolt.

I hope these work then. I completely forgot about having clearance from the bolt. I really hope I didn't mess up picking up the mediums. I just didn't want the scope too high to get a good cheek weld with which is why I didn't order the highs.

Savage Model 10 and I will be mounting a Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 scope.

Does your model 10 have a 'standard' bolt handle with the small knob, a 1" oversized knob or one of Savages tactical bolt handles?

If it is a standard knob with the small knob, I think the set-up your planning on will work, almost positive it will.

If you do run into the problem of the bolt handle interfering with the scope somehow, some of the aftermarket bolt handles that are 'longer' will remedy the problem, the 'heads' or 'knobs' are smaller, and the shanks are longer on these bolt handles.

I think the setup I'm planning is going to work. I put the scope on with those rings just to mock it up, and I had .380 of clearance between the scope and the bolt knob. So rings being .1 shorter should still clear the bolt knob.

I bet you could have ordered low rings and had plenty of clearance since the bases are adding a descent amount of height as well. Of course I'm guessing you've got weaver bases.
