What, if any, difference between Taurus 24/7 and 24/7 Pro?

I'm looking at picking up one of these in .45 and possibly a second in 9mm.

I can't for the life of me find the difference between the 24/7 and 24/7 Pro. Or, for that matter, much difference in the Millenium model that's similar.

Anyone want to shed some light on this?

I think they call the 24/7-PRO SA/DA as the first pull is lighter than the second if the slide is not retracted.

The Millennium are the sub-compacts in the Taurus line, you definitely what the PRO model here as the originals had problems for certain serial number ranges (you can find the ranges if you search the web, but its easier to just go with the PRO current production).

rent and shoot one of these before you buy it, if at all possible.

I think these have one of the worst triggers on the market, apart from the Sigma

What else are you looking at other than the 24/7's? I ask because I had a 9mm 24/7 pro, and it was unbelievably inaccurate. A trip back to Taurus did not improve the situation. I didn't like the trigger much either, but it was workable. IMHO friends don't let friends buy 9mm 24/7's.

well I have lately discovered the EAA Witness line of pistols. Not sure if I'm crazy about them as a carry, SHTF weapon though.

looking at a poly Witness in 9mm right now.

IMHO if you like the EAA 9mm (or .40S&W) you should be looking at the CZ they are imitations of. In .45ACP, .38Super or 10mm the EAA delivers what CZ doesn't -- a CZ75-like pistol in these calibers.

My experience with the Witness-P; old style, without the rail, full sized mag well (Witness .45ACP mags fit the well) was very bad because the short rounds slopped around in the long mags causing all manner of failure. IMHO the steel framed Witness are much better, and the Elite Match are better still, but they also may suffer the 9mm and .40S&W short round issue, but I was able to modify my mags to work in the steel frames, never could get reliability in my 9mm and .40S&W Witness-P guns.

Its possible the new polymer frames fix the problems but....
