Let's say you lived somewhere you could not have them, couldn't afford them, or whatever. What do you suppose your life would be like without them? What would you use for defense? What would be your hobby? Would you be bummed?

Guns are such a huge part of my life, that I don't know what I would do without one.

wow! hard question to be sure. id prob have a ton of crossbows and compounds.ive heard it said the american indian could keep 3 arrows in the air at any given time and be accurate also.id prob move to a place where i cud have guns. as far as economic reasons, i cant see not being able to afford a single barrel shotgun at least?heck i got a couple i gave 40 bucks for.i would not feel too undergunned provideing venison for my family with a bow.it would take longer to get done in some instances.i would have to say that a place where yu could not at least have a cap and ball revolver or a muzzy rifle would prob not be a place worth living in.for me anyway.

Yes I would be bummed, and probly be dead. Guns saved my marriage, because before I got into them, I struggled with the bottle pretty bad, and guns were/are the only thing I've found to help me fight off the ole bourbon blues. All my time away from work is devoted to my wife or to some gun related activity. Even if its just shooting the breeze at the local gun shop.So God bless the USA, Thank you for the 2nd ammendment!

I would either move to Switzerland and deal with their silly citizenship laws, or move to America, the land of the free!

Barring that I would start a resistance wherever I was because wherever I'm living is clearly violating one of my human rights.

If I couldn't have them because I am broke (hey... that sounds familiar...) I would practice something else more economical like archery, or maybe even slinging

use a demo vehicle for my hunting/ defense needs

i think a ton and a half moving 20-30 miles an hour would stop most dangerious animals, and people

Militaria, ethnographic weapons (swords, knives, war-clubs, etc), and videogames.

Really, I'm not so much a shooter as a collector, and my collection is largely on the basis of provenance and interestingness. It's all about interesting artifacts, that they shoot is just an interesting bonus.

Archery. I like to shoot, it relaxes me. In fact I sometimes prefer archery to shooting.

I loved archery as a kid, so probably that. I'd also probably take an effort to learn how to be proficient with a fighting knife.

I'd leave England!:D

No, really, I'd be as much into archery as I am now. I have a small collection of recurves that I love to shoot. It's quiet and doesn't rouse the neighbors, and I can still put meat on the table.

For self defense, I'd pretty much what I do now in The Peoples Republik Of Maryland, the land of no CCW. I'd still carry my Irish blackthorn stick or one of my hornbeam walking sticks, keep up with training, and keep a good selection of innocent looking tools around that can ruin somebody's day with a little fore thought. I've lived most of my life in places where gun carry is not possible, and believe it or not, there is life possible without guns. I'd miss my hobby of target shooting, but I'd be okay. I know I would have a lot more money. No, I'd probably dump more money into archery, canoes, restore more old Vespa's, and other things. Yeah, I'd be okay.

Carl.

I have heard that Canada has several times more guns than the US but The US has 70-90% more violent crime. I have heard this a with different numbers a few times-I do not have the citation but would like to see it. The obvious interpretation to me is, it's not the guns-it's the culture/people.

Play more tennis!!!!

Assuming I my core beliefs would not be substantially different, I'd probably be into archery, black powder (remember they aren't "guns" according to BATFE), knives, family, and career.

Wouldn't let funds keep me from owning - as long as I'm above ground and moderately healthy I can earn a living sufficient to buy at least something for SD.
Law won't allow? Move. Period.

I think that I would start building medieval siege engines. Throwing a 1500 lb. rock around, should keep me entertained.

I'd probably start taking kung fu and learn to knife fight.

At the typical self defense distance of 7 yards, a competent knife-wielder will probably beat a pistolero anyway.

I'd also probably drive my RC trucks more, cycle more, have more "quality time" with my wife, etc.

AIKO492 I have heard that Canada has several times more guns than the US
Sounds ludicrous to me, considering the US has an estimated ~80-100 million gun owners, and most of us :) have multiple guns.

According to Wiki, Canada has 33 million citizens total. Given the gun laws in Canada, if half of them were gun owners, I would be shocked.... and that would be a whole ~16 million gun owners. And if any of them owned more than one gun, I would guess that they are the exception.

Canada has the 13th largest gun ownership per capita, the US is number 1 by a fairly wide margin.

Things would be about the same. I don't really have much time or money for guns anyways.

I wouldn't worry too much about defense, since I don't worry too much right now. I might have a crossbow handy since some of my firearms interest might have been channeled into those instead.

Would I be bummed? Kind of.
