What is YOUR favorite ccw? I'm talking about that utilitarian handgun, that is there to protect you. Your absolute SHTF weapon, the one CCW that if you were walking down the street and had to have it, you'd feel comfy with. It doesn't have to have all the bells and whistles, it can have severe holster wear, but it is the on CCW that has ALL of your confidence. What's yours?

(Shadow for CCW, but for survival mode I'd take my XD45 Tactical for the added capacity. Two different roles in my opinion)

Truth is, i've never had or shot one handgun enough to know that it's the one. I came close with an XD9sc. Not so much as one failure of any kind in a few thousand rounds. It seems like every few months I kinda start over I need to pick one and stick with it.

Playing musical guns has never made any sense to me. Why in the world would you let an XDsc get away? I can't MAKE MrsBFD's XD9sc malfunction without loading empty cases or snap-caps in the magazine.

My EDC is a Walther PPS-9, or a 3.5" compact 1911. Either would do for the roles you describe, but for absolute chaos I'd probably want to strap on something in Tokarev until the ammo runs out. Punching armor might be important in the Zombpocalypse.

If SHTF and its breakdown in rule of law/survival.. I want my Sig Sauer P220 .45 with its collection of loaded mags and my carbine
If something goes down in "everyday life" then my EDC, whatever it happens to be, will have to do....As of later today(and hopefully forever) it will be a Kahr K9

My EMP. It's never malfunctioned and I can shoot it well.

Of course, if I KNEW I was going somewhere dangerous, I'd want to be carrying my XD 45. As a sidearm in addition to my AR.

I think I've finally settled on a carry piece.
It ended up being a Kahr E9, which surprised me, to be honest, but it conceals well and shoots even better.

S&W 696 ( 3 in. .44 Spl. L frame) You only get five shots but it makes BIG holes. I don't have enough faith in any magazine fed semi auto for serious business use.

I bought a Glock 19 thinking it would take on that role, but My Kimber Pro CDP II has never let me down in a few 1000 rounds and I feel more comfortable shooting/carrying it.
