What is the most recent knife you bought?

I bought this “knife” when I had a chore to do that I didn’t want abusing the edge on my beloved blades. I picked this up at my local Tractor Supply.
I know many will say that a replaceable blade tool isn’t a “knife” but this one has changed my mind.
It is an Outdoor Edge 3.5” Onyx EDC clip folder. IThe action locks up absolutely tight and the $3 replaceable edge is shaving sharp out of the box. Think of a heavier duty full length box cutter. The blade is sturdy enough that I would have no qualms jabbing it in to a slab of meat.
I love that I never have to sharpen it and if I damage the edge I just shrug and grab a replacement blade. In two years I have replaced the blade twice. I have never felt the need for the blade to be tighter. Retention is perfect with virtually no play.
One caveat is that for messy work you must remove the blade and clean it and the blade holder. Failure to do this can result in the blade being stuck in the knife.
This has evolved to be my EDC simply because of quality and utility.
I would prefer a bit more heft in the handle perhaps, I may shop for another model.

To bad for the guy that lost it.
My wife found a Benchmade on a hiking trail once. She gave it to our nephew.
Found a Benchmade 950 Osborne in a gas mask bag at work. Guy turning in the bag after deployment said it wasnt his and he didn't want it. My buddy in receiving asked me if I wanted it. Yes Sir, I do. The pocket clip was sprung and the blade looked it was used to cut rocks, but I got it all fixed up. It's in my pocket now and razor sharp.

@EMC45 my wife found the knife on a trail that you are familiar with.
Gatlinburg Trail close to Sugarlands...

The benchmade I found had a service members name on the blade laser etched. I searched the AF Global email chain/list and couldn’t find them. I was gonna mail it back if I found them. Fixed and sharpened of course.

another knife
Good looking design. 5.5" is one of my favorite blade lengths for a woods knife. D2 is a good steel as well and no one can complain about micarta for handle scales. It would be good to know which specific manufacturer made it for them.

but the Moras have occupied this market for awhile
Not really why folks like me buy knives. ;)

I'm sitting in my office at home with well over a hundred knives within reach ranging from custom to production (or Moras to Morans). I buy knives more out of interest or just curiosity for at least a decade of the 50 years or so I've been buying knives. Of course that curiosity might include "just how good is it for what they say its for".

Its a kind of a Kephart on steroids. Off-grid does offer this, https://www.offgridknives.com/ridgeback-scandi-stonewash/ a bit better chopper.
I will let you all know what I think of it.

Carothers Performance Knives... by far my favorite maker. Small-batch CNC shop, proprietary CPM3V heat treat, great folks to work with.

This is a one-off version of the Super Duty Field Knife model that Nathan calls the "Abdominal Ventilation Tool." Double-red micarta handles with dark acid-wash, deep hollow-ground tanto blade. It's about 7" of blade.

Had to get double-red scales for it. Hearkens back to Ft. Benning.

"WHAT MAKES THE GRASS GREEN!?!?!?"

Here's the standard version, well, the upgraded standard version (Signature Series) Super Duty Field Knife in double-black micarta. I don't have the basic version, unfortunately, but the Signature Series has the top swedged and a skeletonized handle compared to the basic.

Any concerns about corrosion in the 3V?

I have no experience with that steel? Or is it in a different steel. They did a run in Elmax didn’t they?
