I'm not looking for comments on the politics of the event in question. I'm just interested in what the second rifle is, the one on the bottom, the one that's not the Martini.
I will say, though, that two men hiding on a hill with these rifles probably had a huge advantage over any men crossing open ground, regardless of what the other men were carrying.
