The other thread is fascinating, but I'm not into Glocks and don't know what the 3rd and 4th Generation debate is all about.

I surmise that Glock somehow complicated the design and in the process screwed the proverbial pooch. But in what ways did they do it? I thought all Glocks had the limp-wrist jam problem.

I have S&Ws -- second and third generations -- and though heavier than Glocks, are purtier and feel better shooting.

Thanx!

4th gen changes:
Ambidextrous Slide Catch Lever
Interchangeable Back Straps
Beveled Magazine Well
Reversible Magazine Release
New Sights
New Disassembly Routine (no more dryfiring to disassemble)
New Texture
New Recoil Spring Assembly

i believe the recoil setup is the cause of the probs.

No more dry firing to disassemble gun? You mean that people who are responsible enough to have a safety on a trigger can't be trusted to disassemble the gun by pulling the trigger?

What was it that caused Glock to make these changes?

And what sort of problems are being caused by the recoil setup? How long have the 4th generation pistols been out?
