What Kind of Accuracy to Be Expected From A 45ACP Carbine?

I am wondering what you guys think is practical accuracy expectations for a 45ACP carbine.

I want to shoot out to 50-75 yards regularily.

I am shooting cast and FMJ 230 Round nose bullets.
I may also try the Flat nosed Cast bullets as well.

The Carbine is a Just Right 45ACP.

Your input would be appreciated.

My HK USC will put 10 into less than 2" every time at 50 yards and it stays pretty close to that at 100, perhaps 2 1/2" at 100. I don't have any experience with the manufacturer you mention but I think any decent one would be close to that.

I have been listing after a SBR in 45.....Bazooka Bros make a lower that accepts grease gun mags. Suppressed..

I wanted a Marlin Camp 45 to go along with my Gov'mnt 5" for the longest time ... and what a let down it was when I finally got one. It seemed like I was shooting a loud pellet gun. At 75 yards you could hear the round hit the target. It did not seem to me like the round had benefited from a longer barrel. Accuracy was not a whole lot better than I could do with a pistol either. Aww geez ... I could go on and on about the camp 45 ... but you want to know about the caliber in a rifle.
On the other hand, I have a .357 lever action Marlin that I would like to take to heaven with me.

I had a Marlin Camp Carbine way back when, and it averaged 4.5-6.0" group at 100 yards. I really didn't expect better than that, as .45ACP ammo velocity variables can easily affect vertical stringing. It is NOT a rifle cartrdge, so inconsistencies in velocity round to round can start vertical stringing at shorter ranges, opening the groups up that way.

I have Beretta Storm in 45ACP. At 50 Yards, with a holo sight I can place 5 shots in the 9-10 ring pretty easy.

dissappointing Carbine performance!

My JR Carbine grouped in at 3.25" at 75 yards yesterday. I tried four loads and they all grouped similarily.

The 185 Sierra JHP's shot into about 2 1/2" at 75 yards.

My JR carbine cannot reliably feed facotry ammo. It is loaded too hot for the rifles design set up. The action slams back so hard that the bolt bounces forward off the bumper + spring force. This causes the bolt to feed far too aggressively upon returning to battery.
This crushes at least 1 or 2 cases in each magazine.

I recently pulled the bullets from three different factory loads and reduced the charges by 0.4 grains. At this charge level I had no malfunctions in over 100 rounds!

I loaded 200 rounds with Clays and Trailboss (230 Grain Cast RN, Tumble lubed).
These loads also functioned perfectly.

Simply put, the JR Carbine is set up too lightly in the recoil spring. That is poor product QC!
have seen many other guys who bought this rifle and are furious about he factory ammo not functioning reliably!

I am just fortunate that I can reload ammo that will function properly! My loads are at least 0.4 to 0.6 grains low of maximum charge.

I have a Camp Carbine and am very impressed with the accuracy. My handloads do very well.
