Evreyone has there own. Mine in Gunzilla. Spray it on, wipe it clean. No smell, no rust. AR15, Glock .40s and 9mm. and many more. I clean mine much to oftin, after about 1000 rounds. I have tryed a lot of cleaners but this is way more than a cleaner or gun oil. Try it and you be the judge.

CLP... Rem Oil seems to disappear once you spray it. I use to clean moving parts, wipe it down, and cover it with CLP.

I used it in the bolt carrier on my SCAR, and even under high temps, CLP would not tend to evaporate as much.

I also use Shooter's Choice grease on my Sig's rails.

most of the time ill just splash on some CLP and be done with it....works great and keeps rust at bay...

but if im feeling jonty...ill give it a sprits of tri-flow...its a lubricant made with teflon.....and man is it slick.

Mobil 1, and some kind of wheel bearing grease, I've forgotten the brand.
Sometimes I use automatic transmission fluid if I'm feeling quirky:neener:
It all works fine.
A thin film of Mobil 1 works at -20F, when other guns are jamming.:D

Been using Rem oil for a couple of decades with no complaints. I use it because it's cheap and Walmart always has it. As far as rust protection goes, I find it works great. My pet hunting rifle has seen many days hanging off a hook in the rain. I bought it in 1992 and had never taken it out of the stock until last year. I figured I'd find rust on the reciever/barrel where it was hidden by wood. I didn't. I guess enough oil ran down there to protect those areas, too.

Developed to prevent jamming and over-heating in large machine guns and high caliber rifles. Great for recreational hand gun enthusiast.

LUCAS Gun Oil is designed to stand up to the high combustion temperatures of machine guns. It also totally protects against moisture and is completely odorless. It resists evaporation and drying during long term storage.

Mobile-1 5w-40 Turbo Diesel (AKA Delvac-1).

Amazing fully synthetic oil with a fantastic additive package. The esters keep any plastic and rubber parts from drying out and cracking and it's anti-wear additives means that the finish on the chambers on my handguns have practically no scuff marks on the top or side from the slide after about 1200 rounds on my HK P2000.

I like Mobil 1 Full Synthetic.

Where can I get one of those Astronaut Guns? I have not seen any on Gunbroker :).

Just my .02,
LeonCarr

I like to use auto oil for some stuff, but I dont like the oil smell for some things, especailly not for hunting rifles. For when I don't want the smell, or I want something lighter weight I use butches gun oil, it smells sweet like chocolate.

Would you even need oil for NASA Astronaut guns? They'd probably be ray guns (no air = no powder) without moving parts to lube, and the vacuum of space would negate the need for a rust inhibitor.

Go ahead and shoot me...3-in-1 oil.
3-in-1 has worked great for me for 60 years and I live 500 ft. from salt water. I'm a carpenter and I do not tolerate rust on my tools or my guns.

Tinpig

I use 3-in-1 too. Despite all the nay-sayers I've never had any issues with it. I'm convinced that if they just printed "3-in-1 Gun Oil" on the front and charged about 3x as much that a lot of people that previously wouldn't touch it would proclaim it as amazing stuff :). A lot of stuff that is special purpose is just marketing.

In a similar way, lookup the history of Grey Goose Vodka. The original owner (who sold the company for an insane amount to Bacardi in 2004) admits that when it came out pretty much the only thing he did to make people think of it as "premium" was jack the price up to about twice what anything else was selling for. That's it. Wasn't really produced any differently than anything else out there, but if you put in in a nice bottle, and charge twice as much people think that it has to be better due to the price.

Whatever is handy. Gun oil, break free, WD-40, 3 in 1, sewing machine oil, fishing reel oil...whatever. I've never used automobile or outboard motor oil, but I'm sure it would do in a pinch.

I use BF CLP for pretty much everything. On a really dirty gun, I'll occasionally use Hoppes #9 or Outers Foaming Bore Cleaner to clean the barrel. But CLP most of the time.
