While reloading or processing brass, have you ever wondered, "Sure wish someone made XYZ reloading products or XYZ components" that would make life a whole lot easier?

Are there certain reloading products or components that you really NEED or WANT but are not readily available or not in existence?

If you have, share your NEEDs and WANTs. Perhaps with combined resources of THR, we can work to come up with solutions for some of these needs/wants.

For me, since I go through a lot of .308 now, a case prep center is on the top of my list. It's the next thing I plan to get. Plus, it's something my 9yo daughter can use to help with her reloading.

Since I'm a single stage loader, there isn't really much I can think of. But there is one such tool I've been trying to some up with, and it wouldn't really be all that difficult to make if I had the tooling.

I've always wondered why the Lee case length gauge for trimming isn't manufactured to function for a cartridges of the same caliber, rather than cartridge specific. An adjustable case length gauge if you will. Since the neck dimensions are the same between cartridges that share the same caliber, .243 win, 6mm Rem and so on. So by simply adding an adjustable length gauge you, could then use the same neck guide for all cartridges. It would be very simple to thread the rod, or just drill the neck guide, so it could be slid up or down, then use a recessed allen screw to lock it to desired lengths. I actually came up with this idea years ago when I had difficulty finding a particular length gauge for a cartridge with the same neck diameter.

Additionally, it could have a threaded neck guide that could be switched out for the caliber being trimmed, also in the same fashion, simply add threads to the neck guides. I know there are numerous trimmers out there, but I've always preferred using this type with an electric drill.

I've got a few other ideas, I just can't think of what they are right this minute. I have a few reloading tasks to do tomorrow, so I'm fairly sure I'll remember some of those in the process.

one large case that holds a pound of powder and styrofoam bullet so powder can be shipped as loaded ammo and no hazmat fee:neener:

Motorized cutter for Lee quick trim dies or a Lee set up like the Dillon 1200 would be better

I really hate trimming cases. I would love to have a Hornady case prep center but unfortunately I need a third progressive press a whole lot worse.

I'm really at odds as to which to buy. If I can't work it out I won't buy any until I figure out what will work the best for me in conjunction with the equipment I already have.

I wish someone would invent a universal, progressive powered trimming machine that the average person could afford.

If I was going to take a serious interest in the bullet feeder for my Hornady LnL AP, I would have to be interested in the new powder check system, since I would be giving up a powder check die for the bullet feeder station. That assumes I usually crimp with a separate die and have been using all five stations.

I don't do everything on the LnL AP. Lower volume reloading is done on the Lee Cast Turret.

p.s. On more careful reading of the OP rather than just the thread title, I would add a wish list item of a special series of dies for lead bullets, dies that produce results .001 larger than standard. I have the few COWBOY sets available, but it's not as if those are the only calibers using lead bullets. Note that I am no longer open to a discussion that badgers about how regular dies are no problem with lead. How nice for those people.

Tightgroup,
Have you tried a "Worlds Finest Trimmer"? I actually hunt for more brass to trim now, and am disappointed when Im done. Im a little bit of an oddball though.

Of course, the WFT wouldnt be optimal if you reload many calibers.

I could use a Factory Crimp Die with screw-on/removable carbide sizer rings so I can use different sizer rings for different diameter bullets to utilize the benefits of the FCD without post-sizing the bullets.

Does that thing de burr as well or just trim? I would like a trimmer that trims, chamfers, deburs and all!

Just answered my own question, says maybe slightly on the inside. Now, I need this thing!

i want a FAST way to THROW powder that is ACCURATE to .02g or better.

i want a better way to clean brass than tumblers, ultrasonic, etc. that uses less dusty corncob/walnut hull and minimal harsh chemicals.

i want a LE wilson hand die set in 260AI with micrometer top

i want a lube that's easier to use than imperial sizing die wax that doesn't interact with the powder.

I want a dedicated man cave vice my garage,

I want a thumblers model b

I want hornady ammo plant

I want a faster way to prep once fired military rifle brass

That is the best thing I have read in a long time.

I want newspapers to go back to Linotype and wheel weights to go back to lead. And I want to know if the rcbs x dies really work well, and if they did/do, I want one in 30 carb.
I also want 9mm to be a straight walled case and I want the Lee 300blackout mold to stop being a boat tail. And I want to be able to find powder.

Apparently I wantier than I thought I was at the beginning of this post.

I want giraud to make a press mounted trimmer that trims/chamfers/deburs and offer a free conversion kit to folks that already own their trimmer. And as a plus, the station that it occupies in a progressive press would also decap/swage and size (w/out need to lubricate cases) so you could really crank out the bottleneck cartridges!

I wish I could find 22 bullets.
A mini 14 that takes ar mags.
Lower priced .30 cal projectiles.
Im sure theres more but cant think of it at this time. I know this is primarily for reloading but this is the list.

That 1lb powder cartridge doohickey...I want the magnum shotgun variety. 8 pounds of powder with lead projectiles in .430,.310,and .358 would be just dandy.
