What rimfire ammo you shooting these days?

I shoot a ruger single six for .22 LR and I'm down to a few boxes, but thankfully 6 rounds at a time out of a wheelgun makes ammo last a bit longer.

i shoot 22 WMR about 50 rounds per trip through my Savage 93. luckily i got into a box of 500 for a good price through midway a few weeks back. 22 WMR is also tough to find.

I shoot whatever I can get the cheapest. I'm partial to American Eagle but in my Single Six anything will do. I just do lots of plinking and don't notice the difference in accuracy between brands. I've had very, very few duds with any of it.

some guys here say they have given thousands of rounds to friends. I am waiting to meet a guy like that

+1

I have a some boxes of Federal bulk and CCI Blazer that I bought before I went overseas in 2010, as well as smaller amounts of assorted CCI and others. I don't shoot more than 25-50 rounds in a range session, and my range sessions are few and far between. I like to use up black powder at present, because I have a bunch of that gathering dust.

I'm gradually burning through the Thunderbolt I bought years ago when Sam's club carried it at 2 bricks for $14.00 . Next up comes a few cases of Federal 550 round bulk packs. There's a few bricks of Winchester T22 that my old bolt action likes; that ammo is reserved for that particular rifle. (1/2" groups at 50 yds)

At my current use rates I've got enough for a few more years without resupply. I'll wait until I can order cases at a reasonable price and restock.

I've got a box of CMP stuff I got 2 years ago or so.

I also bought a bunch of CCI 3 years ago I've been working through.

When the ammo "crisis" is
Finally over, my dry storage boxes will be full of CCI and ill shoot the "cheaper stuff" unless I'm
Hunting. Then I only use CCI 40gr MiniMag.

Sportsmans Warehouse had 525 boxes of Golden Bullets this last friday so I picked up two for plinking. For more serious use I'm down to my last brick of CCI SV and about 600 CCI Mini Mags.

It's been tough but I'm starting to see rimfire come available in fits and spurts, I think the worst is over.

Right now - nothing...
Been pickin it up anywhere and any time I find it decently priced - which isn't very often. I probably have over a thousand rounds but that isn't enough to justify shooting any of it. I found some in a drawer I've had for many years - guess that will be the first I shoot up when I finally feel comfortable with how much I have....

I've about shot out my CCI Mini-Mag that I use in my Sig Mosquito, so I'm really scaling back on shooting it until I can find some more. I've still got some Federal 22LR for plinking with my 550, but only about a 1000 rounds left. It's my own fault - I haven't been too serious about locating more due to a busy, busy July and August.

I personally am shooting whatever I can lay my hands on, which is not very much these days. When will this shortage end?

I keep checking the local walmart for a little more. I found some there before... I'll find a few boxes again.

I've ironically also been shooting more centerfire. I had reloading components to load .38 Special on hand and traded for some more bullets, and I found some bullets at Widener's today, so that's what I've been using. I shoot about 25 rounds every other day or so and can see that my skills are sharpening back up again even with just that.

Need to find some powder pretty soon though. I can't find Unique, so I may try 231.

I'm still shooting the pile of Winchester Wildcat .22LR acquired when times were still relatively good. LGS ordered a bunch for me about a year ago at $23/brick of 500. I also have a fair amount of Remington Thunderbolt left over, too (from when I couldn't get the Wildcat), but neither my rifle nor my handgun like it much, and too many of them don't go bang.

I haven't even tried to buy anything since then, so I have no idea how bad it is around here.

22 LR is the only round I have not seen at all in the LGS around here. Haven't seen ANY 22LR at Walmart since December. haven't seen any at Academy or GM either. One LGS had some when I bought a pistol the other day and offered to sell me a brick for $50. They were only selling it to people that bought a gun. I was in a store in Columbus GA the other day that probably has the best selection of ammo and guns in town and some guy bought a 10/22 so they sold him a brick, I think Federal, for something over $40. Guy said they only got in 4 bricks for the week.
I am down to around 7,000 rounds. Mostly Armscor that I bought online back in December right when it got stupid. I had close to 20k rounds in January. I have cut back by not loading the 25 round mags when we shoot and by shooting more revolvers and lever guns wit the kids rather than the AR-22s and such.

I shoot 22 a lot, mostly Wal Mart Remington 550 bulk packs. If I ever run out of that (not likely, I gave away 4 bulk packs Saturday to friends), I'll start shooting Federal 550 Wal Mart bulk packs.

I also have a bunch of odds and ends 22LR.

I had never shot Aguilla before this, have gone through lots of it now. I'm pretty impressed, except for the smell of it.

I've mostly Remmington GB in .22LR. A bulk box of Federal, somewhere. Between my wife and I, about 2,000 rounds worth still on hand.

For anybody who wants to know, one standard metal ammo can will hold precisely 70 boxes of Winchester .22 WMR with no room for a cockroach. 3,500 rounds in an ammo can, sweet as can be!

Would that all ammo stacked so nicely! Though WWB fits really well, too...almost as if they gave that a consideration on the dimensions of the boxes for .45 acp and 9mm.

I've been shooting Federal 36-gr copper plated HPs I bought while Bush W was still President and stashed away.

Also this weekend the kids and I shot a coffee mug full of miscellaneous 22's I salvaged from gun-range drops. When I buy barrels of brass from gun ranges there's always a lot of 22's mixed in there that people didn't bother picking up when they dropped them. Some may have a firing pin strike and didn't go off. Most don't have a single mark on them.
Free ammo is great. Free 22s when you can't even buy them is even better.
