What should I do here? FFL scratched my Gold Cup.

I overlook small marks knowing that in a year or two normal wear and tear will be much worse and the original marks will be unnoticeable
In my case, it's more like months. :)
It seems like if it gets close enough to rub against a barricade, or gets laid down on a bench, that's the one with the rusty nail sticking out of it.

You'd have to prove negligence to claim compensation. And hire a lawyer. Decent of the guy to make you happy.
"...Now I want a Gold Cup..." Series 70 Government with a match barrel and trigger job. Same thing.

SSN Vet The problem is that Colt puts a bunch of crap in the plastic case and the convoluted foam doesn't adequately prevent it from migrating inside the packaging.
It's not just Colt.
Glock, S&W, SIG and many others put little thought into how they design a box.

It's heartbreaking to open up a box to find assorted screwdrivers, magazines, padlocks, etc that have been haphazardly placed next to a beautiful gun and during shipping have been bouncing around on the gun.

With only one exception, every single Cold that I have gotten has some little nick in it from the assorted crapola in the box.

The only exception was my WW1 O1911 Colt reissue - which was individuallly wrapped in wax paper, in a box, within a box, within a box. And that is only a partial exception since it did come with a blemish, but that was from the factory is in before they put it in a box. Geez. Out of idle curiosity, I contacted the Colt Custom Shop about fixing it. They cited and insane number of months to turn around the piece, so I decided just to live with it.

Might have missed somebody else mentioning this possibility: the FFL wanted pic's for advertising and placed the magazine over the already worn spot to hide it.
