Its definitely a manufacturing oops. And it definitely wouldn't have left Remington's, Colts, or Sigs factory like that...
Yup, it definitely needs a trip to customer service....that none of my other 1911's needed. But then, I'm sure Colt and Sig test fire their guns before shipping them off. Having great customer service is awesome, but of limited value if you have to spend %20 of your guns value getting it there and back again, for something simple that shouldn't have left the factory. A simple test firing, and it wouldn't have gone out the door like that. This indicates shoddy manufacturing Q/C, and manufacturing....which shouldn't happen on a 100+ year old platform that has been very, very well debugged, and machining measurements known for a long time, by the time my gun was ever cast...yes, cast. NOT forged.....another RIA cost-cutting measure. IMO, these RIA 1911's are $300 guns, and a great value at $<350.. As soon as they raised their prices to $400+ they were too close to taurus 1911's, and remington 1911's, without offering any value over them.
